I am specifically referring to the red mushrooms known to have about a million spores.

yes, these spores are used for reproduction, but not all have same spores in terms of growing. but all mushrooms have spores.

Your question could be a bit more clear.

Not all fungi are mushrooms. Mushrooms do reproduce by spores. No, not all mushrooms have the same growth requirements, life cycles. I would recommend you find the book "Growing Mushrooms for Fun and Profit."

I also don't know to which mushroom you are refering. If I had to take a wild guess, your vagueness is trying to infer one without actually mentioning it... probably Aminita muscaria. Don't eat them- they're toxic. Of, course, you might mean those funny little ones that glow in the dark, but they're more orange.
