I'd keep it as a good base colour, like a dark blue, or brown. They look cool with pics on them, and are great contrasts for most bedding and furniture... And they are timelss too ... and if you wake up feeling a bit under the weather, neither colour will send you running to the toilet to throw up.

painting your room depends on a lot of things, the main thing is the colour you want it to be, then add decorations to suit. you can o it the other way around so paint it the colour to match the room decorations/furn. Maybe you can pick a "look", so like a beach theme, yellows, blues and whites, stripes and sea shells. maybe a retro look, so bright colours, high gloss and art deco acccessories. You can go country style, shabby chic, earthy or natural. really all depends on you, i find the brighter the room, the happier it seems to portray, but a darker room may be more seductive. If it is a small room, lighter colours would be nice because that would make the room appear bigger, so use mirrors to give that openess appeal. Use naturals and light or soft blues for a claming effect, if u have a lot of stress, cut down the clutter and use whites and pastels. u dont have to have paint either, there are some really nice wallpapers out there, and the good thing is u can mix them with painted walls, u could have a nice feautre wall with plain or neutral surrounding walls. u can also have a feature wall with paint. Dont have a feature wall connecting to the doors or windows, feature walls are best left to open walls with no distractions. if u still dont know what you like, look in magazines and home decorating sites to see a style or ideas you like.

I would say a nice neutral color. Like light and dark Browns. You can also throw a little white accents in there as well, to brighten up the room. you don't want it too dark. A neutral color would not show any dirt. And brown and other neutral colors are very hot right now. There are lots of nice accessories you can purchase for those colors.

Good luck.. :)

By the way, don't even think about painting a room blue, because you get really tired of of looking at it.

Beige or any neutral colour. It sounds boring, but you can accessorise your room and change it around all the time with throw-overs, paintings, fabrics depending on what you feel like. Neutral colours are also very calming which is what you need in a bedroom. If you choose a bold colour than you may get bored with it pretty quickly. Try a feature wall instead.

light blue and pale yellow have been shown in scientific studies to produce a calming effect on people, and if you want a fun more vibrant room, do the top half yellow and the bottom half orange.
Purple is supposed to inspire, but as long as you don't paint it too dark a color (your room will look TINY), and you'll be fine.

Yellow! It's cheerful and soothing at the same time. Also, you can change the mood by adding accents. Blue and white and yellow look like summer and by adding browns, reds and oranges you have a fall, wintery look. Be sure to sample the shade first. You don't want anything too bright... look for a buttery shade.

Bedrooms should be peaceful and serene. Aim for blue based colours. Turqoise, Cerulean, Aquamarine. use a tinted primer then add in. Also if you are ambitious. go for a single coloured wall and the rest cream. you can add warmth and depth with accents, bedding and lighting.

Tan or khaki. Bolder than beige but still neutral enough to handle any color scheme or decorating theme.

They say u shouldn't do red because it keeps u hyper, uncomfortable or unable to rest good or somenthing, but I LOVE how a bright red looks with white borders.
