I do and I adore it!
The flute is really a beautiful instrument and I think it makes some of the most beautiful noises and has a really amazing range as an instrument, you can play the octave right below the staff to the high octave notes way above the staff! It's awesome.
Also when played correctly, the sound of the flute is really hautnting and beautiful, i love how the emotion really shows through the music from the happy bouncy high and staccato notes to the low, flowing and dark notes.

There are tons of people out there who play the flute (including myself). If you've ever seen a school band, you'd notice that the flute section is usually one of the biggest. There are 20 flutes in my section, plus more at my school that aren't in my band class. I take flute lessons, so of course my flute teacher also plays the flute. It's a serious instrument, one which many people play. It's probably the most popular band instrument, especially for girls.

Boy, are YOU in the right place!! Go to Yahoo GROUPS, and join FLUTENET. Just on that list alone, there are more than 3,000 flutists - all levels - pros (like me) teachers, judges, students - you will LOVE this, and learn lots!

i played the flute through school, i don't anymore though, not really enough time
i use to enjoy it though :)
