I gave my dog her first Advantix treatment yesterday. Well today, she was eating a Greenie and it got all in her fur. Is it okay to go ahead and bathe her?

Wait 48 hrs after you apply treatment to give a bath.

No, you should not. The advantix works by entering the blood stream at the application spot, and also spreads across the skin by the dogs movement (rolling on the floor, scratching, etc.) It's not recommended to put any more chemicals on the skin. If you apply the advantix monthly there should be no need for flea baths just regular dog shampoo will do. Also don't give the dog a bath for up to 48 hours after application of the advantix. Good Luck!

Be sure you read the instruction on the box ~ But from past experiences it is always best to wait 48hrs after treatment ~ Advantix is absorbed through the skin but to get the maximum affect, it is always best to wait a couple days if possible...

Advantix & Frontline are absorbed into the skin.
Check the package, it should say how long, I'd guess 24 hours.
Greenies have come in for criticism, some dogs choke on them.
They try to swallow them whole, & they get stuck inside.

No I would wait a few days. They do sell shampoo for dogs that is (supposed to ) not remove flea/tick treatments.Just use a cloth dipped in warm water for now. That stuff is too expensive to chance taking it off with bath.

You should be fine to bath her now. They usually recommend at least 24 hrs before bathing after application.

check the instructions for the required time you have to wait to bathe a dog -- if the groomers ask when you appl.ied flea medicine - than i would wait to give dog a bath

Check the instructions on the avantix. You need some time for it to absorb into the blood stream. Times vary so you need to know that.

Is it possible to bathe her and give her the Advantix again? Talk to your vet about this.
