I have a Dodge Neon, and i want to buy a larger wheel. I found some online at a GREAT price, but i want to make sure they will fit. They are 19" ADR Silver 4x100 universal wheels. I don't know if they have the same lug pattern, or if the "universal" means they will fit almost any type of car.

First, what model year Neon do you have?
4x100 will only fit on a 95 Neon that was 4 lug.
5 lug Neons have a 5x100 bolt pattern (1995-2005).

Second, 19" is pushing it.
1st Gen Neons (95-99) can barely get away with 18".
2nd Gen Neons (00-05) can go larger, but not much.

Third, with a wheel that's so big on a car designed for 14" and 15" wheels, you'll need a very low profile tire and may not even exist.

Goto: http://forums.neons.org and you'll find almost any answer to any question you have on the Neon.

In reply to above it just changes the gear ratio. Bigger wheel would mean taller ratio which would actually improve mileage. However unless you have a self adjust PCM the ABS Brakes will no longer work because they're programmed for a certain size wheel. They'll still stop the car but the ABS system won't work. Also the speedometer needle will be off. This is because once again you've changed the gear ratio. Unless of course you have a self adjusting PCM. If so you have nothing to worry about unless you race your car because you have just increased the rotating mass and given it a taller gear ratio, both will hurt your 0-60 and quarter mile times. But I'm guessing you don't care about that.

Also, Theres no extra strain on the engine. Don't know why peole think that, your engine is pulling nearly 3000+ pounds with people in it and the extra 5 lbs from the wheels is going to be the end of it? Give me a break. Cost to push the wheels? Shouldn't you be more worried about the cost to push your fat butt?

I ran 18x7.5" Drag DR-4 wheels (35 offset) with 215/35 Sumitomo HTR+ tires on my old 1998 Dodge Neon R/T back in 2005. The car was lowered on H&R race springs and no issues with rubbing or handling. The handling was way tighter and the ride was firm but it is what it is if you are into customizing your car.

my friend has 20" lexani rims on his wifes intrepid. They do clear with a rubberband tire though what size tire im not sure i was just paying attention to the rims but if you go bigger as in 21"s or better u will have to put a truck lift kit and new spindles and so on and to be honest the 20's on my buddys wifes ride look CLEAN as all get out. 20"s nothing less!
