Depends. If your prescription has stabilized and you plan on keeping the same pair of glasses for several years, then glasses are cheaper than contact lenses.

It depends. You have the one time price of your glasses and you're good for a year (until your next exam). If you get contacts that you sleep in, you're supposed to change them every week. If you have the same prescription in both eyes, you will have 3 pairs per box (usually). So you will have to buy a new box every 3 weeks. If you change them as often as you are supposed to you'll spend over $700/year on contacts. They are about $18 a box. The prices vary depending on what kind of contacts you want. Also, the contact exam is more expensive. I had a contact exam and went ahead and got glasses and contacts just as an option. Hope this helps you.

It depends on the contacts; some are good for 30 days while others are only good for 14 days. And how long do you intend to wait between exams? Most eye exam facilities recommend coming back in one year for another eye exam. Plus, your perscription is only good for one year if you are buying contacts. If you are paying for these with no discount plans or insurance, and plan to get another eye exam every year, I'd go with the contacts. If you wait longer, say two years, then go with the glasses. Contacts that last a year will run you around $150 to $250. Make sure they are disposable, and please make sure to shop around. Don't be tempted to buy them directly from the place that did the exam. They will usually give you a pair after your exam that is good for at least 2 weeks to a month. All you need is a document from your eye exam doctor showing what your perscription is. It must be no older than one year. You can take that to anyone who sells contacts. Try 1-800-contacts.

It depends on what kind you get...
Generally speaking, contacts are cheaper.
I wear daily disposable contacts, so those end up being a little more... but if you get the 2-week disposables, they should be cheaper.
You can wear lenses like Acuvue 2's for 12 weeks (3 months) for about 30 bucks.... or $120/year... you cant get a new pair of glasses every year for that amount.

Glasses are cheaper in the long term. You have to keep buying contacts as your supply gets used up so it will end up costing more than if you had bought glasses from the start.

if you don't have any extra cash, contacts are cheaper for now.
in the long run glasses are cheaper because you don't have to buy glasses but one time and then if your prescription does change all you have to do is get new lenses. with contacts it doesn't cost so much at one time but it is a continuous cost. you can actually see better out of contacts and your eyes usually don't get any worse for a long time. i did go back to glasses after my chemo treatments started, just didn't wont to bother with them anymore.

definitely glasses because when you buy them, you dont need to buy more unless its for repairs and you can have them for a long time. contacts need to be renewed every once in a while, plus you need cases for both... and contact solution for the contacts. but you would need eyeglass cleaner and a cloth, too. but glasses are cheaper, trust me.

The contacts themselves are cheaper than glasses but remember, you still have to buy solution and things like that.
