Yes we are to be different. Romans 12:2 says that we are not to conform to this world, but we are to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. When you say appear different, I think that brings up an interesting point. Take for instance Moses. When he encountered God, he radiated the glory of God. So much so that the people asked him to cover his head because they couldn't stand to see the glory of God, it was too much for them. Now I am not saying that everytime we meet with God, our hair will turn white, and our eyes burn with fire, but what I am saying is that when we encounter the almighty God, we will be changed. I believe that the world will see this change if we let them. I know that there have been times that I have had the Spirit move in my life, but when I got back to my life around non-believers, I tried to hide that move. I am ashamed to say that, but it is the truth. If we as Christians are daily walking with the Father, the world will take notice, and see Christ through us. These are just my thoughts, God Bless you my friend.

Yes, a true Christian does not belong to this world in the same way that Jesus does not. A Christian is different than everyone else. They are outsiders or outcasts. They are the victims of persecution in one way or the other. The Bible says, "Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God" (James 4:4). That doesn't mean that Christians are meant to hate people. No, no, no because in fact Christians are supposed to love people. They're supposed to hate sin and worldliness is sin. The James 4:4 quote means that whoever likens themselves to worldliness (which is ungodliness) is creating themselves to be an enemy of God because God and the world are the complete opposites of each other. This world is ruled and deceived by satan. There are numerous religions, ideas, philosophies, rituals and lifestyles in the world that contradict God. That is worldliness. There is only one Truth - that is Jesus. Jesus says, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life - no one comes to the Father except through me." So, yes, a Christian should appear to be different than the world around him/her.
There are, of course, certain things that all human beings do - eat, sleep and etc. Those are things that all humans beings are meant to do. Jesus did those things when He was on earth. Those things are not ungodly and therefore not worldly. I know that when I became a Christian - I immediately began to see a difference in my lifestyle and attitudes, and most everything else. I did become different than everyone else and it does stand out. It stands out because of the way I am and many of things that I say and do are different than what most other people do. For example, there are certain films that I don't want to see because they're sinful whereas most other people wouldn't care about that and I stick out in that way. A true Christian stands out in the world. They're meant to.

Absolutely not! Christians should not appear to be different but they in fact should be different! If we were to be just like the rest of the world around us and not serve as living examples of what the people in the world should treat themselves like, we would be taking away the meaning of the word and the significance of being 'Christian'. Lets us be different and influence any thinking and noticing mind out there to yearn to be just like us! Let us be living proof that our God is the living God and is there to save all of us from the sins and the evil which is the repercussion thereof in the world. Thanks for the question though. Cheers!

John 3:sixteen, 17, 18 is a quote from Jesus. Vs 18 says that "He who believes God sent His Son into the international should not be condemned, yet he who does not have self belief ... is condemned already". distinctive translations say it in yet in any different case, yet it rather is the gist of it. in a single of Paul's epistles, it additionally says, "He who has the Son has life. He who has no longer the Son, the wrath of God is on him, and he nevertheless abides in dying." (back, from one translation to the subsequent, the wording will replace, however the message does not). Then, Jesus additionally reported "i'm the door. everybody attempting to pass into by any different way is a thief and a robber." and back "No guy is composed of the daddy yet by me." there is plenty greater that He reported approximately this, yet there are 3 witnesses, and the Bible says "enable all issues be carried out by a minimum of two or 3 witnesses." Now you have a call - you the two have self belief the Bible, or provide up calling your self a Christian. There are not the different thoughts left. Up interior the previous, you have been harmless for the reason which you probably did no longer have the certainty. Now you do, and now you're in charge for what you recognize. God bless you as you face what would be a confusing determination. would the peace of God stay richly on your coronary heart.

Absolutely! The Bible states that;
2 Timothy 2:4
No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
The renewed man acts upon new principles, by new rules, with new ends, and in new company. The believer is created anew; his heart is not merely set right, but a new heart is given him. He is the workmanship of God, created in Christ Jesus unto good works. Though the same as a man, he is changed in his character and conduct. These words must and do mean more than an outward reformation. The man who formerly saw no beauty in the Savior that he should desire him, now loves him above all things.
The heart of the unregenerate is filled with enmity against God, and God is justly offended with him. Yet there may be reconciliation. Our offended God has reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ.
God bless you

yes, while much of the media stresses pride, we should strive to be humble; often many are impressed with worldly riches, on the other hand we should seek a treasure in spiritual riches; often the world glamorizes the rich, young and healthy; we should lift up the poor, sick and elderly, they need it the most. There is so much fighting in the world, we should seek peace and pursue it.
The world is passing away quickly, we should strive to do good to all men, and especially to those of the faith

Believe it or not, true Christians (I prefer the term "Christ-like") will naturally appear different than the world around him/her. Once you have accepted Christ in your life, been baptized with the fire of the Holy Spirit, and have truly begun to try and follow the commandments left to us by God, you have no choice but to be "different". You truly die to the world -- you fight your flesh, or your human desires and try to be a better person. You see the wrong in the world and you go against it. So, of course you will be different than the world around you.
