Catholics of a denomination or another sect of Christianity. The first Christian religion was the Roman Catholics, where they believe that Mary mother of Jesus peace be upon him and her is a God. Jesus did not preach of his own religion but the religion of God. To submitt to his laws and commandments. The United States is nothing but polythiesm. Meaning you are able to worship anything under the sun. The land of the free hun. Thats what they say. Free to go to Hell thats what they mean.

Catholics are Christians. Christianity is the umbrella of any faith that professes Jesus as the Son of God. Catholics claim that they were the first Christian church, and that the Apostle Peter ("Upon this rock I will build my church...") was the first Pope.

There was some dispute about practices in the church, that led to PROTESTS and a new branch of Christians called...the Protestants. This was led by Martin Luther, and suprise...the first Protestants were the Lutherans. But others have followed suit, to include the Assemblies Churches, the Baptists, the Methodists, the Congregationalists, the Presbyterians, Episcopalians, etc etc, and all the ways they reformed and regrouped into the huge variety of churches you see today.

Not sure, but a third leg of the Christian church is the Orthodox. This I don't know much about, but it stands to reason that this is where the Greek Orth and the Russian Orth fit into the picture.

These are all Christian churches.

I am say this because my Protestant brother are brain washed. Catholic view bible more deeply then the Protestant. Catholic view bible with Holy tradition that came from Jesus mouth and bible (1 Cor 11), (2Thess 2:15), (2 Thess 3:6), (2 Tim 2:2), and there is more. The Bible never say fallow only Scripture (bible). and there is more. "Sola Escritura" only bible is bad myth. Jesus founded his church on earth he call Peter the rock not little rock as some Protestant. Look for the mean with true Greek Dictionary if you like fine it your self and you will find I am tell the truth.

Not all Christians are Catholic, Christians come in every flavor of the rainbow these days, from solitary, to traditional, to non-religious and everything in between.

Some don't believe in Christmas, some are pro-choice, some never set foot in a church, some are gay, there are Pagan-Christians, Christian Mystics, Christian Scientists, and the list goes on and gets bigger every day.

There are three main types of Christian churches:

1. Roman Catholic
2. Eastern Orthodox
3. Protestant (this category includes basically everything else...Lutherans, Methodists, Baptists, etc.)

So Catholics ARE Christians, but not all Christians are Catholics.

Hope this helps.

Catholicism is a part of Christianity just like Protestantism is a part of Christianity. There are many denominations and sect whith Christianity particularly Protestantism. But at the end of the day it is all pretty much a part of Christianity as they believe that Jesus Christ is the lord and savior who died on the cross for our sins. Of course there are differences in doctrines but it's all pretty much the same thing.

Well one of the many things that are different between Catholics and Christians, that I've seen and have somewhat of a problem with is that Catholics pray to Saints and to Mary.
Which is the same as praying to a false god. Those saints didn't die on the cross to save you from your sins, they can do nothing for you.
The bible clearly says, that no man can come to the Father except by Jesus.
Catholics also follow a lot of man made Doctrine, when all we need to follow is the Word of God, just open the bible and the truth is in there, the Bible is the Word of God.

But the biggest similarity between Catholicism and Christianity, is that we both believe that there is a God, he created the world, and Jesus died on the cross for our sin.
God answers prayers not Saints, not Mary, not priest.
I know that I pray directly to God, i come before his throne of grace, with humility, and he answers my prayers.
I hope you find the truth and the answers your looking for!
God Bless!

Catholics are Christians. The only difference is in the bigoted, uneducated minds of some Christian sects such as protestants and fundamentalists who feel the need to condemn anyone who does not belong to their church to Hell. They often mistakenly accuse Catholics of worshiping idols (saints and Mary) and say that Catholics follow the pope, not God. The responses you are sure to receive will show their ignorance.
