OK, so the title is sort of vage. I really want to act, or model (for like, Macy's, or what ever) but I am so afraid of failing, or embarrasing myself. But I really love it. And its not like there aren't auditions, because I live where there are a lot of them...what should I do?

And its not like there aren't auditions, because I live where there are a lot of them...Also the thing about me singing, is that I never have, I just sing in my room, I think that I am good, but if I sing for some people and then I'm not good, I would have embarrased my self...what should I do?

I take it your really young, and don't have that much support. Even if your not young everyone needs an actor no matter what age you are. How do you know your going to fail if you don't even try. Take some acting and singing lessons. I found with acting I didn't know anything, I screwed up one paragraph 5 times. These people are making the same mistakes you are. Your there to learn. As for singing lessons it makes you pumped, but don't be afraid to get out there or you never will. I have been singing for 11 years. I'm a good singer, but i'm no Whitney Houston. Not many artists are expected to be. Pat yourself on the back for what you can accomplish. As for finding work, I would say your computer is your best source. You can subscribe to stagesource, backstage, or hollywood reporter. Good Luck!

If you prefer your illusory life, just keep your aspirations to yourself. Video games are another great way for you to feel that you are great at something that, in reality, you'd really stink at.

If you would rather choose life and its real thrills and spills, you should follow your passion. If your passion is real, you'll survive the embarassment. What you don't want to do is keep your love a secret. Denying true passion will eventually leave you a hollow shell. You must find out if the object of your passion loves you back, or if you prefer settling for the fantasy of being loved back.

The funny thing is that you cannot know how it will work out unless you pursue it. If nobody has ever remarked about how talented you are, chances are that you don't sing well. Acting is something else. But no matter what you think you might be interested in, get in the water and see if you can swim a little. You don't even have your big toe in the water.

If you don't, you might consider spending your life mourning what might have been if only you'd had the courage to take your shot. Many, many of us do. Often, the fantasy is enough (e.g. "The Iceman Cometh").

Yes, we're all afraid of that. There's only one way to find out, though, GO FOR IT. Get parental permission/backup if u need it, but find an audition u can attend, prepare ur material well and give it ur best shot. U'll never know otherwise. Ok u might make a mess of it. So what? If u do, pick urself up and try again. I wish u all the very best in ur efforts. Believe me, u won't regret it.

Hey.Well you didn't mention how old you were but like if your still really young and live with your parents why don't you try talking about it with them.I am going through the same situation as you but not singing or modeling...acting.I talked to my parents about it and of course they said no.But I live in Louisiana so there arent many auditions. But anyway you should just tell them to at least give you one chance.Hope I helped.

Sounds like you need to work on your self-confidence. The only person who fails is the person who doesn't TRY!
