Paint is the most inexpensive way to start. Even if you have one color or several, you can always use masking tape and make some shapes for a totally new look. Slip covers are also fairly inexpensive to give a room, a whole new look.

You have to try Ikea! They have super cheap accessories for your room at a low price! Look them up at ikea.com! I would also try walmart or target, cause some of the stuff is actually pretty nice. And even more rewarding than going to the store and buying stuff, is finding it! You gotta go to all the yard sales in the area, or trashpick when you see something you like! Then you can buy some inexpensive paint and fix your yard sale finds up! Good luck with your room! ~Peace~

since you have so many varying colours in your room, its very easy to match things well with it, the best thing to do is keep it bright and happy, using vibrant colours etc. the way i like to o up my room is having something personal, so go to little gift shops and buy some cute bright photoframes, u can put pics of ur friends, BF or family, and thats always a nice touch. try to add some life into the room too, pick some flowers *(if u have a garden) and put it in a big bright vase, this adds life to the room and makes it feel brighter, let a lot of light in, the darkness of a room can be depressing, whites work well in bright rooms so u dont need too much colour, but be careful not to buy too many small things to put around the room because that can cause clutter, keep funky boxes and a nice bookshelf so u can store away stuff that doesnt need to be showing however, have a few nice focal points around the room.

Make your own abstract art work to hang on the walls, or use black a white photos of you and people you love blown up on a copier till they are a little grainy looking and put in bright frames for your wall. Or, I have seen this done and it looks cool, black and white photos colored in sparingly by hand with a highlighter. Don't forget to make throw pillows for your bed. You can easily make your own curtains even if you don't sew. Just buy twin sheets in the colors you like and gather them every few inches and put a curtain ring clip on! It's easy. You could even put 3 panels of different colors up on each window. Use ribbons for tiebacks. If the sheets are too long for your windows, you can let them pool at the floor or you can fold the sheet over once (however many inches you need) before gathering and clipping them and they will look like they have a built in valance.
Get some brightly colored silk flowers from Hobby Lobby and put them in a white bowl or bucket for your desk.
Think of a theme to kind of work around whether it be flowers, polka-dots, beach-theme, stripes, whatever you like. That will help you kind of work around a particular idea.
Have fun!

Chain Art's and Craft stores are a relatively inexpensive place to look. Depending on where you live Michaels or Hobby Lobby are common, and good places to find things.

yard sales and thrift stores are your friend!!! go there and buy things you like. shelves, book cases, nightstand, etc. can all be repainted. i like to buy old brass lamps spray paint them and then add new lamp shades. there are serveral books that give you ideas on how to turn "junk" into great decor.
