Oh yes! at around high tide jig a white plastic grub on a red jig head with a slow, short jerk every few seconds. Fish slow. For best results keep a tiny fresh piece of squid on the hook. When's supper? Number 2's finger mullet is no joke, either. You can also use live bull minnows which I, to the amazement of many, Carolina rig and jig on the bottom. Live shrimp when you are really tired of playing around, but when you feel bump, bump, the pinfish are killing your shrimp, better get the plastic.

3 excellent Flounder Rig's:
1. Carolina Rig with egg sinker/circle hook
2. Jig and Berkley "Gulp" Grub or Swimming Mullet
3. Saltwater Spinnerbait (like Redfish Magic) Slow-rolled along the bottom.
Flounder are like deer hunter's. They love to camoflage themselves near "edges" and wait for their prey! (lol)
You have to find area's with strong tides and ton's of bait. Jetty area's, OLD dock's and Bridge Piling's near tidal creeks are a good place to start. I love catching Flounder, (they are super tasty!), but I generally don't target them. Flounder are usually in the "mix" when you find a good feeder creek or shell bar.
The last time I went home, (to FLA) , I went fishing with my Dad and we caught mostly Flounder! I was only there for a short stay, so we decided to shorefish/wade along A1A near Marineland, (St. Augustine area), instead of hauling the boat. We caught a "fish fry" worth of 7-8 LB Flounder, (7), and a couple nice Red's.
You know what we were using? Those spinnerbait's with "Gulp" Swimming Mullet body's.
Our "gameplan" was thus: Slowly make our way down A1A hitting every available jetty and bridge we could park & wade. It was fun and not as much work as taking the boat out, (my dad is "getting on" in year's and doesn't have the stamina to fish all day on a boat)!
They SHOULD outlaw "Gulp" product's, they DO work better than live! I just wish they came in better color's.

Use a two-foot leader and a bank sinker so the bait could roll with the tide. Usually flounder (aka fluke) lie on the edges of a sloped shoreline. That way they could ambush and bounce on baitfish while doing minimal work.

The only way to get a lot of Flounder is to walk around in shallow waterways at night with a flashlight. When you see one you stict it with a gig. Marshy warters are the best place.
