Was in a 9 year relationship have been seperated for 1 year now, have a 7 yr. old boy as result.Have 2 take father 2 court 4 child support because he refused to pay a dime after his mother evicted me and his son out of their house for having him arrested for physical abuse, which by the way she condones.Rumor has it that he recently had another baby, but he denies it as he has w/our child. Now that court ordered 4 him 2 pay he now wants visitation rights.Because he has a history of violence I can either A.have supervised visitation or B. fight for no visitaion rights at all. What is in the best interest of child who's stuck in the middle, after all a mother is here to protect her child?

Start with supervised visitation and see how it goes, if it is an issue, then move for no visitation at all.

Try for supervised visitation. It may be hard if you don't have proof of his violence. It would be even harder to go for no visitation at all. It is more likely that the judge will grant your son's father visitation. Your son does have a right to see his father if he wants to and his father does have a right to see him if he is paying child support. Unfortunately that's the way it goes.
