all the time. It's very important to discern if you're hearing from God, or hearing from yourself, your own wants and desires.

do you mean that the proof for the existence of god may, potentially, be in a form such that it is not acceptable as substantial proof by mainstream society in other contexts?
it seems to me that anything outside a spectrum of types of evidence is insubstantial and not reason to believe in one thing or another but rather look further for more evidence.
Plus, if we are unable to understand god (as he is superior, not human, and "works in mysterious ways"), why should we be able to understand evidence. And why would God provide us with evidence?; I don't exactly see it as a treasure hunt.

Why does it always have to come down to proof? Never in my life have I ever seen a proof of anything physical that was absolutely unquestionable. Beyond a reasonable doubt, yes. Unquestionable, no. I beleive what I believe. And I don't have to prove nuthin' to nobody.

Living in a community and receiving eternal life and word of God that helps you in one's needs, and learning that he really excite in my life. In my community every one asks question about the one how gave them eternal life to them or happiness, and fullness of life and how was it keep. One of the questions that they ask who did Jesus look relating who did Paul look, and who were after them. First community of Jesus Christ also did same ask the same questions. Those question are ask because it is human nature to ask specially a god who has taken you from death to everlasting life. Most Christians will jump history or avoid this answers, to keep their followers. Only true church will give you true links it's faith though history to the apostles and Jesus Christ. Mt (16, 18).
