so you actually have a space - not a room - if i am understanding you correctly.

put a small desk in the space and hang a large mirror or painting above it. add a small lamp, some books and a few other accessories for an instant office.

or a bookcase with a small rocker in front of it would be an inviting place to read.

or a small chest of drawers could become a focal point and a handy place for storage. just add accessories like you would to any other surface - a plant, lamp, candles, etc

hope these ideas help. :)

If u have children then it could be made into a fantasctic child only room to make them feel really special.

If you don't then u could make it into a computer room or even a chill out room.

I don't know if you're into music, but I collect pianos...I have a real piano...(bought used for 500.00)....I have the piano in a room with all my piano collections....I have pictures, ornaments, clocks, wall hangings, you name it....I call it "my piano room"....if you have a collection or passion of some sort, you can always build on that....I also love indoor trees....an indoor tree with other plants might look good too....

have fun decorating

I would start with an item or a theme. If you like the beach, go Cali style. If you love a signature item, like a lamp, create your room around it!

I think one of those electric or gas fireplaces with the mantle, would look great. It adds class to a room and it also heats.

1] mirrored shelves for small knick knacks
2] recessed family portrait gallery
3] recessed niche for large painting
4] paint outdoor scene as backdrop, put window frame over it, and put plants on the 'sill' if they fit
Have fun!
