JESUS IS THE WORD OF GOD. Read the following verses from John chapter 1
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was with God in the beginning.
3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
4 In him was life, and that life was the light of men.
14 THE WORD BECAME FLESH and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
At the time of Jesus' life, the Old Testament was available in scrolls and here is part of the story where Jesus was reading to the people in the synagogue from the scroll of the Prophet Isaiah:
"Jesus went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. And he stood up to read. The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written: "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor."Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him, and he began by saying to them, "Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing." All spoke well of him and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his lips. " Luke 4:16-22

During the time of Jesus, there was no "Bible" , if there was how could Jesus be in it? There was however the Books of Moses and some of the other books of the old tesament, and he was probably like any other great teacher. He knew most of it, but maybe sometimes had to go check.

It was called the torah- as it is now... not the "old testament". Jewish wouldn't have believed in the Christian bible as he lived and died a devote Jew. The portion of the week was chanted several times during the course of the week- during Shabbat and at market days where the most people would hear it. Boys and men also spent their lives studying the text, so YES, Yeshua would have been very well-versed in the torah.

Jesus did not have a bible with him. He did learn scriptures in school. He did know them well enough to quote them even in times of great pain and duress-while on the cross dieing.

I doubt he carried a copy of it around. However, he would have studied most if not all of the books of the Old Testament (before the Council of Nicaea got a hold of it).

Probably never even saw any Bible, he didn't need one.
btw, I guess you are referring to the NT, which was written about him and really wasn't available while he was alive.
