Hi!! I love your new picture of your Dobie!!!!
I feed my dogs Dr. Billinghurst's BARF diet :)
But I always recommend Canidae, Innova, and Timberwolf Organics.

We used to feed our dogs purina. I know, I know. And then, Tuxedo's skin starting molting off his body. He reeked to high heaven within a day of a bath. You would brush him and huge clumps of hair and skin came out. He itched allllll the time. So we switched to IAMS. Nothing improved. So we did some research and discovered that what he was most likely suffering from (from reading articles on the internet and talking with our vet) was food allergies - specifically wheat.
So we went alookin for food that did not contain any wheat - and did you know - that's really hard to do! Some of the - what people assume are better brands - IAMS, Eukanuba, and so on, contain wheat and/or by-products. We looked into Canidae, InnovaEvo, but ultimately decided we liked Natural Balance Fish and Sweet Potato. It's listed as an "allergy formula" - it contains no wheat and it contains organic ingredients (aka no pesticides).
The dry food is supplemented with eggs (from time to time), cottage cheese (from time to time), carrots, peas, any veggies that are needing to be consumed. And the boys (and now girl) are thriving on it.
Xedo now has all his fur and skin - and the itchies are gone :)

Fromm Four-Star Whitefish and Potato for one of our dogs with allergies. The puppy gets Fromm Large Breed Puppy Gold Formula. I don't use canned Fromm. I do, however, add a few spoonfuls of canned Evangers, Halo's Spots Stew, Canidae canned or healthy human foods to their dry food on a daily basis.

My parents' dog was eating Purina and she's a giant itch right now. I think I might have the dog food talk with them.
My dog eats Innova EVO red meat (I love that it contains buffalo - my dog could never take down a buffalo) and supplements her own diet with grass, horse crap (occasionally) and random stuff she finds. I fed her Nutro High Energy before I found articles through here.

My dogs get a mixture - about 1/3 Innova large breed and 2/3 home-cooked natural diet including raw meat.

I'm almost embarrassed to say...I feed my dog's Iams Eukanba....the only reason why I am embarrassed is because from YA...it appears this is a bad food. Otherwise, I have fed this food for years and have a 15 year old whom has eaten it all his life and is very healthy. The only reason why I would have any reason to change is from what people have said on YA.

I use Purina Dog Chow, but I'm thinking about switching to the Fit and Trim kind from Purina. They keep sending sample packets of it with the Dog Chow, so I think they are hinting that my dog needs to lose some weight. lol

Any dog foods you can buy in a grocery store is garbage, full of fillers and by-products and that includes Eukenuba and Science Diet, Beneful, Pedigree, etc. UGH
I feed my dogs Chicken Soup for the Dog Lovers Soul because it's a good food and because of it's affordability and availability in my area.
