It has turned in on itself many times before and will again....

Many pagans, including myself, believe in the existance of evolution. The principles of evolution, including natural selection, are part of the cycles of nature. Life, death, and Rebirth. One species that cannot survive dies out, but others that are stonger or more suited replace it. The divine can be seen everyday in these cycles of nature, in the changing of the seasons and the rise of the sun. Most pagan, even though they have an understanding of evolution and science, also know there is something more going on in the universe than we can see or touch.

I'm Pagan and a firm believer in Evolution. I don't beleive in andy supreme deities but any spiritus or supernatural entities that might exist would have evolved along with live in the physical realm.
With evolution nature is supremely divine. Every organism is evolved to fit it its own place in the ecosystem. Most of the time it is us humans that are out of place.

I sort of believe in it.I believe that at first there was only the Gods. Then they made the 5 elements that everything is made up of-earth,fire,air,water and spirit(aka soul)-and used them to create the universe.
They then created the first forms of life and watched to see how well they did.The Gods have continued to alter the world-changing the climate when they wish for a change, sometimes adding new forms of life or removing old ones as new ideas come to them but mostly they allow nature to continue and to select forms of life best suited to the world they have created.
So basically I believe the Gods created the world and the first life forms and that they ultimately control what happens. However I also believe in natural selection,I believe it is what the Gods use to decide which of their creations works best.

I have always believed in the theory of evolution and the theory of the Big Bang. Wicca doesn't dismiss science but fully accepts it as science helps us to understand our world around us.
Now for those that say, 'how can you believe in science and still believe in magic?' Well this is easy too, I believe that science is helping us to understand how Nature works but every scientist will tell you, science doesn't have all the answers yet (and not even all of the questions yet). It is only recently that scientist are not being scoffed at for exploring the possibility of psychic powers (albeit they are calling it "zero point energy")

I've never seen a reason to view scientific explanation (evolution, Big Bang or otherwise) as a threat to any religion, whether it be Christian, Pagan, or anything else. In my mind, the motions of the universe are one in the same with the will of the gods. Gods are not haphazard creatures.

Everything used to be together as One. The Big Bang theory does support this ancient idea. Since everything was once One, everything is connected to everything else. Our planet is a living thing, of sorts, and life developed on It possibly as a means of artistic expression. As She, our planet, became more complex so too did the life that Expressed Her being. Something that never changes never improves.

I can see where you are coming from. I believe in a mix of both. Evolution is the way the Gods & Goddesses made the world.

Well, if I ever become Pagan, I know I will believe in evolution, just that the Great Goddess helped with it.

Yeah.
Evolution supports my views of the "personification of deities" being the (Star Wars-like) Force. Always adapting, changing evolving. We as humans are only here temporary & if we keep on doing what we're doing, that'll will be shorter period than otherwise.

Evolution doesn't require my belief, any more than the sun does to do what it does or gravity, or friction for that matter.
I am not so self important as to not be able to see myself (man) as a work in progress, just like the rest of nature.
