If i get it right you are asking whether any religions propogate only from parents to child and conversions into that religion are discouraged.
Judaism is one such religion where you have to be born to a jewish woman to be considered to be a jew.

Atheism. I've tried my hardest to have faith in God, but I just born to not believe in him, I guess. So I started researching atheism and discovered that I had found my niche.

Well... there is no such thing as a christian infant... a moslem infant... a hindy infant... etc. There are only children of christian parents... children of moslem parents... children of hindu parents... etc. In other words... all children are atheists... they are born without belief in gods... they are born without belief in ANYTHING. So... atheists they remain, until they are subjected to that strange form of mental and psychological child abuse... religious indoctrination... i.e., 'brainwashing'.

In Islam you are a Muslim if your father is. Should you convert to another religion your family is commanded to disown you thereafter.

you are considered a Jew if your mother is Jewish... in reform judaism it can be either your mother OR your father
