Looking over the religion & spiritually section, I noticed a lot of so-called "christians" make stances and statements totally contrary to The Faith and The Word. All this talk of "tolerance", which is simply a liberal swindle to make what's wrong right and what's right wrong. And peace and love? Yes, Jesus spoke of such things, but these things are reserved for The Righteous, those that follow and worship the one true God. And as for equality, the bible lays out a specific social hierarchy for us to follow for a reason. You people can't cherry pick the bible, and just keep the 'warm and fuzzy' stuff. It's either all or nothing. It seems to me a lot of "christians" here want to buy into the amoral decadence of the left, but want to keep a foot in Jesus' door. Come Judgement, however, they will find that door slammed shut on them. So my question is this; how can you consider yourself a faithful believer if you only follow a select few things and discard the rest? I pray for you.

So first you must be filled with hate and violence and then in your righteousness you can become tolerant? I thought Jesus said become as little children then you inherit the kingdom. Little children are totally tolerant.

Ahhh, thank you for reminding us atheists why we hate Christians! And you helped us out a little too! The hippy-pseudo Christians are the kind that are actually worth respecting and even revering. You, a true Christian I assume from your rant, are among the few people in this world that we need not tolerate, as you do not extend that privilege to anyone else. Oh Righteous One, You should martyr yourself, if you can find something in this world that's better than you are, of course.

Tolerance of others, to me, is exactly what Christ was teaching. He hung out with prostitutes, ate with tax collectors, violated the Sabbath, and generally turned the narrow-minded legalistic world around him upside down. Jesus was a radical. And by the way, not all Christians have to act like brainless, cookie-cutter robots. We were given independent thought for a reason, and there's not a single commandment in the Bible stating that I have to believe exactly as you do.

'And peace and love? Yes, Jesus spoke of such things, but these things are reserved for The Righteous, those that follow and worship the one true God.'

Then please explain his relationships with the Gentiles, the lepers, the prostitutes, in general, the outcasts. Jesus supposedly came for all. Read a Bible.

I started to answer this facetiously but this is too important an issue.
You can't win someone to Christ by hating them. Jesus didn't pick up a rock and join in with the crowd wanting to stone the adulterous woman.
I don't think I'm going to change anyone by telling them they're wrong. In fact, I'm not going to change anyone, I don't have that kind of power. I think if I treat them with respect and reach out to them with love they might open their hearts to the message of the Bible.
May I pray for you, too?

I sort of agree with you here. Sort of. To address a few common views of the "Hippy Christian" as you described: Homosexuality is a sin and is evil, those who do not believe in the Lord Jesus Christ will go to Hell, and Christians should not "agree to disagree" with those of other religions, but should go into all the world preaching the Gospel. That's just the way it is. I think there's just a method to it though.

"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." You are not going to turn someone onto God by saying, "Hey, evil sinner, you're an idiot for not believing in God." It is better to show God's will by speaking kindly and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ whenever the opportunity arises.

But like I said, I'm not going to attack someone who is sinning, - judging them is not for me to do - I will, however, never condone a sinful lifestyle, or agree that it is okay to be of another religion and that that's all well and good.

Who are you to judge other Christians. You are far too judgmental. My mother always said, Apply the Bible to your own life. Don't worry about the sins of others. We won't be judged by the sins of other people so it makes sense to me.
