.... and People, before everyone gets all in a state of sexual passions, I'm NOT talking about that kind of "love" :)

I love some people a lot more than myself. :) But that's probably not unconditional anyway.

God love unconditionally, but I seriously doubt we fully do. No matter how hard we try often we have stumbling blocks before us. A stumbling block would be like our own bigotry, which often interfers with our ability to love unconditionally, but sometimes even those walls are torn down to help someone in need. Seeing needs of others often tear down the wall and helps us reach out in love. How we truly would jump in a river to save a drowning person. Most would desire to try if they are able to. When 911 happen and any major diaster people felt the need to help despite any conditions they my have. Love seems to out weigh in situations where people normally might not love or care about certain people.

It's very common for people to want to assign all kinds of very human attributes to God (i.e. God is mad, sad, angry, depressed, vengeful, hateful of gays, women, etc.). From what I can tell, it says a lot more about the people saying those things than it says about God. Maybe what you might consider is whether or not you love unconditionally. From what I can tell, there's no inherent conflict between loving ourselves, loving others and loving all in God's creation. Even if you don't believe in God, you still have the capacity to love unconditionally, and if you're angry at God, you're the one carrying around the anger, not God. Based on your set of beliefs, you are trying to sell an unreasonable, irrational and illogical assumption about God. While you're entitled to believe anything that works for you, I don't like your chances of selling to most of the rest of us. Have a nice day!

I am willing to give love unconditionally, however I do not throw logs on a fire that has gone out. When I find that the love I am giving is going for naught, or worse, being used to do me ill or used to make me do questionable, dishonest things to prove that love, I no longer give it.

Rammie, unconditional love is one of those things that we Witches just DO as a matter of course throughout our daily lives. I have found that it's the ONLY way to go through life. It results in a lot of love coming back to me.

Ah, Rammie, it would be so much easier to answer this if you WERE talking about that kind of "love"....

Anyway, I've answered similar questions, and I always say that unconditional love is a term I don't agree with. It implies condoning a person's actions without reservation---at least this is my view of it. I rather prefer the term unconditional acceptance; that is, accepting a person despite their faults.

One can accept a person, flawed though they may be, and yet not accept every action that they undertake.

I love my husband and my children unconditionally and more than I love myself. I also still love my parents although they already passed away. The rest, I love them as much as they love and respect me.

I love my children unconditionally.
That is the best I can do.
As for loving myself. There isn't much there. I've never figured out how to do this. I've always had complexes and low self esteem.
