It's the same with an individual's social relationships: healthy relationships are not formed through fear, or aggression, as the submissive one of the relationship will always bear a small amount of contempt for the less subservient person.

Yes it is harmful. There is no possibility of me listening to what you say if you piss me off, and most people are the same way. If someone wants to convert another person being pushy and rude is the last way to do it.

I think you got the nail hit pretty square on the head.
Fundamentalists never do get it: trying to scare, bully, or intimidate people into God's arms never works. It might bring in people to put money into the collection plate, but it won't bring people closer to God.
Jesus gave us the one big commandment: Love one another. That's how we will win souls to God, not by browbeating and insulting and trickery.

Absolutely. Not only does it warp the perception of the intended target, but, personally, it tarnishes the reputation of the church/organization involved. Hence the rep of Jehovah's Witness, etc.

It wont only hurt the image of the religion in question, forced conversions have no value because religion is about faith and we cannot force faith. Either we have faith or we don't.

I think you are most perceptive and on the mark, we should be seeking truth from one another in tolerance and understanding.
