Giving my opinion to several hate filled people of all religions who have never seen a dead person in their lives, even less someone murdered in a gruesome manner: If you have answered my previous Q about the slaughter of innocent palestinian women and children at Sabra and Shatila in 1982 with hate, you are not following the teachings of your god. You are just showing animal instincts better used in vendettas that have only produced more blood and more atrocities.
Please name an atrocity perpetrated by an atheist and tell me if peace is not better served by non fanatics.
For those who haven´t seen the links of Sabra and Shatila, check this:

That's as careless and demeaning as a human or humans can be treated. It reminds me of some chicken houses I've had to remodel before. Bodies strewn and no one cares. Like so much garbage. Sad and infuriating that precious lives so uselessly wasted.
People have to realize that it has to stop somewhere. Someone has to say no. Payback begets payback and so on forever and ever until someone says no.

I am reminded of a quote, although I cannot attribute the source: "an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind."

I must point out that I am an atheist as well, and I haven't answered any of your previous questions, but I like playing devil's advocate on occasion. Also, I must warn you, my answer may not be at its best - alcohol and sleep deprivation can make communication difficult, no?

Now, unfortunately, I must point out that while per capita, atheists are much less fanatical, there have been and likely still are some fanatics out there who are atheists (though luckily nowhere near as many, even per capita, as there have been of any religious persuasion I know of).

Furthermore, it's not hard to name an atrocity perpetrated by an atheist. Read up on Mao and Stalin if you don't believe me.

Just because one is an atheist does not necessarily mean they are not a fanatic of some sort - only a feeble mind will knowingly make generalizations without exceptions.

That's not to say that the generalization that atheists are not fanatics or less fanatical than religious extremists isn't mostly true, but every rule has its exception, right?

Take care!
