He was tasting you to make sure you weren't rotten! LOL just kidding. Kaidyn, my male Bengal does this to people all the time. He doesn't bite hard, but he always runs away after. I'm not sure why cats do it, unless they are wanting to play. Have your friend get a squirt bottle and spray the cat. He should stop.
had you pet another cat or eaten something lately before he bit? Kaidyn used to do it if he smelled the outside stray on me that I feed or if I had the smell of food on me.

My cat used to do a similar (and nonetheless do it yet decrease than earlier ). attempt to allow the cats play outdoors, or provide them something that takes there power ( for ex a ball, a shifting toy or a lighting fixtures automobile, a chew of plastic ( something could make noise, like the chocolate conceal paper, etc ), - once you do petting on the cat, attempt to not touch that's abdomen, or lower back legs, some cat's do in comparison to that so as that they start to chew, and others theory you prefer to play tuff, so as that they start to chew, attempt to tick the cat head which incorporate your finger saying hushhh, ssssshh, while it bites you. - now and lower back you're able to punish the cat, ex placed it in a private room on my own for 10 minutes, or outdoors the abode (on condition which you will verify that's secure outdoors, no shifting vehicles, or human beings or or or). And for particular ensure to not forgot the cat interior or outdoors

How long did you rub his head?
The cat most likely got over stimulated. Usually, cats will give a warning before they bite.
ears set back
tail wagging
hair sticking up
growling (most obvious)
His behavior is common amongst other cats.

It's playing. My kitten does this simetimes and I never reinforce that kind of behaviour, it's just that sometime she gets really excited and playful. Just tap her on the nose if you can catch her right after (if it's more than 5 min later, it won't remember why you're punishing it) and say "no" sternly, as with any negative behaviour. Otherwise, don't worry heh

Ugh. Don't you hate that? My friend's cat can be a jerk like that sometimes.
I honestly have no idea why they do it. I think that if the cat is maladjusted (ie: a stray or abused in the past) that it'll act like that sometimes.
it's going to seem mean, but i would start ignoring the cat. no petting, stroking, caressing, any of that. or tell your friend what happened and see if she can provide any insight. good luck.

Stop rubbing his head. Some cats really hate that. Stroke the cats chin or back.

This sounds serious and if you ask me (i'm not a vet, BTW) I think your cat's friend might have rabies, ask her if her cat has been up to date with all her shots, because this is not normal cat behaviour.
Good luck!,
