In the past few minutes I have seen many posts, asking whether Islam permits injustice/war/hatred etc.. It is sort of asserting the fact that some people would rather settle with posting opinions.. without the knowledge of the question. Don't you feel that people (anyone) should first try and learn about the (certain thing) they are trying to bash.

Also, why are people asking others if they have stopped watching TV. Since when did the TV become a source of education?.. Whatever happened to books? and to learning from people?

Also, thank you so much to everyone who is helping in keeping peace and tolerance, not just here but in our daily lives. A lot of my friends are non-Muslims, and they are so nice.

Lets pick up some books and learn about what we dont know. Shall we?

Peace&Love ((R&S))

I agree with you, television nowadays is used mainly for propaganda against other people, things, etc. However, even though it was worth a shot, posting a question like this will only aggrivate you because of these senseless answers. People will not change that easily, especially if they are speaking in response to you by insulting the Quran. If television can change them to this extent, and they are too stubborn to believe in what is right before their eyes, then what you are left with is the idea that a single person cannot change someone else's mind properly.
And by the way, anybody who believes that muslims start wars and are mainly terrorists is seriously confused because I can guarantee that there has been at least 5 people from each type of major religion out there that have done the same if not worse. The people of these religions are not true followers so there is no point in blaming the religion itself. Sometimes you need to look into the past to understand the present, and if you all say that you have done your research without actually trying, then do it again. If you believe that tolerance is the main concept, then dont be a hypocrite. Tolerate other people, tolerate more research, and tolerate your confused selves.

When I first picked up the Qu'ran, I was stunned. I could not say with even the remotest conviction that the Qu'ran was not at least as much the word of God as the Bible. But here, in holy scripture, men and women are equal, equally responsible for their wrongdoings and rightdoings. Equally capable in the eyes of God as spiritual beings. Diferent, yes...but one no less capable at their duties than the other.

Then I started on the Hadith..and the lines started being drawn...then the Sunna..then the Fatwas...and a religion that held men and women equal degenerated (because men messed with it) in a system that permits honor killings, female genital mutilation, and burdens women completely with the punishment for adultery..right down to stoning. Stoning??? Where the heck was that in the Qu'ran????

The Qu'ran is Beautiful. The Hadith are lovely, and stand testament to the strength and power of all people.

But dwindling down to the fatwa...and it starts becoming Icky. No prayer during menstruation? Sometimes that's when a woman needs to pray the most. Doesn't say so in the Quran..just says not to approach women sexually during that time of the month..and with good reason. Innovations on Islam are frowned on, but so much of Islam as it practiced today is innvation that it's hard to find the real faith.

Take the Doritos debate for example. The cheese in Doritos is produced using a pork based rennet. Rennet is the stuff that separates milk into solids and liquids (curds & whey). Rabbis, who have MUCH stricter dietary standards than Muslims, have decided that the rennet itself does not become a part of the cheese, and it is so altered in the process as to not be qualified as pork anymore.

Try explaining that to a lot of Muslims. Sometimes it seems as if they want to make practicing their faith to be as much of a difficult burden as possible, so that others can see and admire the suffering they endure for God. He has a place for those people.

There is never supposed to be a burden of the faith. It should be easy and integrate well into all lives, everywhere. The Haram Police, Fatwas, and Innovations are overcomplicating God's simple, beautiful and perfect message.

To be quite honest, those of the Muslim faith that actually believe that all people should live in peace, I'm totally cool with. But the majority of the Muslims on this board are hateful little dipsh*ts who hate my country and my fellow Americans. And I say to them, if you want to live a daily life of a true Muslim, get out of my country. Because the way I look at it, if the country that they came from was so great, and they could practice their religion every day, why in the hell did they leave in the first place??????

Your statement deserves to be considered. However there are not enough peaceful Muslims that condem the fanatics of the Muslim faith. When Sadaam Hussein was in power the world did not worry about religeion, it was worried about the havoc some one in his position could do. It was either he hurt us or we hurt him. Same goes for Iran. No country ever considered hurting peaceful Muslims. Just the radical ones

My dear lady, I admit some do not pick up a book or ask a Muslim true facts about their religion and maybe even get all their facts from TV......BUT Let's face it A SUICIDE BOMBER is not a PERSON OF any Righteous God and that should be A Muslims 2ND responsibility on these types of forums , after you Give thanks to the MOST HIGH. Try harder to let people know, that Islam and suicide Bombers are not one.. Let's not oversimplify........Peace

Christians who are tolerant of others are not living up to what it means to be a True Christian

The word "tolerance" never even appeared in scripture until the 60's and 70's when the NEW American Standard and NEW International versions of the bible came into being. In the King James and original American Standard versions the word used was "forbearance" which itself could imply something altogether different. It should also be noted that at the time the NEW versions of the bible were printed, Marxist liberals were tenaciously teaching tolerance as the NEW measure of morality in America from kindergarten through seminary.

The cross is a lot of things to a lot of people but it IS NOT a lesson in tolerance. If God were tolerant of sin He never would have sacrificed His "Only Begotten" to suffer and die so horrendously for the likes of you and me.

To be perfectly honest with you. that swings both ways. Muslims post some of the meanest posts on here. So, if you want peace and harmony, you might try understanding why Christians are a little upset with you. Every day, we hear new things the Muslims are demanding for their faith...special foot baths, a special room to pray at work, A Mosque wants their next door neighbor to move because when they cook sausage, the odor drifts over to their place of worship....Get over it,,,you are not entitled to any more than the average American. I am Christian but no one gives me any special treatment because of it.

As for your last statement, that we should pick up a book and read...that was quite rude...I doubt you know as much as you should about us. I don't like you, but not because your are Muslim...you are condescending, rude and act superior...

You're right, most non Muslims are getting knowledge about Islam from the wrong sources, mainly the American media. True knowledge comes from interracting with Muslims, going to Mosques, watching Islamic television, watching Hajj documentaries, online sources...

A non Muslim simply has to go to the nearest mosque and they will hear the Muslims there condemning any kind of killing of innocent people

It's very difficult to accept a group who allow their fellows to march in a recent "peace" demonstration in London holding signs which say things like:
"behead insulters of islam"
"europe, your 9/11 is coming"
"the real holocaust is coming"

without speaking out en masse against these "peaceful DEMONStrators"

If the U.S.A. did not consider the lives of peaceful Muslims important, Iran would already be a sheet of glass by now.

Are you a fellow non-Muslims? Because I thought you were a Muslim.

At any rate, what would you say to people who have read the Quran in its entirety, like Sam Harris?
