It shouldn't cause any health problems, but it's better to get your dog food that is made for dogs in it's age group. Foods made for adult dogs have different nutrients and ingredients in them to keep them healthy longer. Feeding an adult dog puppy food is roughly the same as an adult human living on baby food. It's not dangerous, but there are healthier options.

puppy foods are formulated for well puppies. and adult dog foods for again adult dogs. the reason for this is dietary requirements are different in puppies than dogs. your adult dog will not be getting the proper amounts of it's dietary needs. a puppy food can cause your adult dog to become overweight and other health problems that come with that. if you have a puppy and your adult dog is snacking, try feeding them seperatly. the occasional snack may cause intestinal upset in the older dog, but shouldn't cause anything too serious. unless your adult dog is prone to pancreatitis or is on a special diet for other medical reasons.

I think the only time an adult dog should eat puppy food is when a female is carrying puppies. Other than that, puppies need different nutrients than adults, which is why they make them seperate types of food.

Yes it is actually better because it is higher in nutritional value intended to accomodate growing energetic puppies with lots of protein. It is reccommend for pregnant dogs and high energy dogs.
If you just have a regular dog that doesnt do much and isnt in any activity then you should put him on adult dog food after he turns a year old. He could become over weight easily. Its cheaper anyway.

it won't hurt your dog, but it may cause your dog to get fat, since puppy food has more protein in it
