Some Christians judge Atheists but not all. Christ said Judge not lest ye be judged. I don't judge the Atheists I try to explain my beliefs and defend my beliefs. I hope they will be convicted by the Holy Spirit and be saved. As for the Christians in prison. Many of that number become Christians after being sent to prison. Just like many of the sexual offenders they almost immediately become Christians when they are sent to prison. That should give you something to think about.

I think it's also that they have a difficult time in understanding why people don't believe in religion or faith when they do. Plus many Christians are brought up to believe that the Christian diety is the one and only diety and the only true/right diety to worship. I also think that they have problems with debate which is made up more of facts and logic, rather than religion, shared values, values of the heart...etc.
Just out of curiosity though, where did you find your statistics?

UM, Many people who end up in prison find religion (again) anyway. Why do atheists bother if they really don't care? It's as if there's an atheist agenda out there also. Whatever.

Most so called "Christians" use the term to cover their real motives and intentions. When you see someone advertise a business as a "Christian Plumber" or put a fish symbol on a used car business sign then you know this is someone trying to cover up for shoddy work, trash products, or crooked business practices.
A true Christian will never try to advertise their faith or use it to better themselves.

It is in the job description. All organized religions think they are the one true religion and if you are not in their one true religion, you are doomed, doomed, doomed. Every organized religion argues that all others are false. Atheists are just another form of non-believer, and anyone who is a non-believer is of course, doomed, doomed, doomed. organized religions are all "holier than thou." Certain radical Islamists seem to think that anyone not of their faith should be killed and actively seek ways to kill non-believers, which seems a bit harsh, but still, it isn't only Christians who judge others unworthy. Atheist or Christian or whatever, we're all infidels to Islam. I doubt that God exists. And because I have doubts, many organized religions would not accept me as a believer. A true believer does not doubt his faith. Bah! Humbug!

Christianity is supposed to be about spreading love, kindness, and respect, so I don't get this either.
Also, I don't need saving anymore. Perhaps those who were indoctrinated as children need to be shown other ways to think, as I have been.

You are citing statistics which are 80 years old.
When nearly every one claimed to be a Christian even if they were not.
I'd love to see some recent stats.
I've been told that over 90% of the prisoners in one very new federal prison are Muslims.

Insecurity.
"Truth does not demand belief. Scientists do not join hands every Sunday, singing, 'yes, gravity is real! I will have faith! I will be strong! I believe in my heart that what goes up, up, up must come down, down. down. Amen!' If they did, we would think they were pretty insecure about it." — Dan Barker (ex-preacher).

May I point out that the average person considers themselves a Christian on whether or not they have ever owned a bible and didn't reject it.

Their faith is weak, and they need to reaffirm by belittling. Didn't you read the Bible? That was central in the teachings of Christ.
