How to win the war on terror?

Easy, we kill every terrorist we find; where ever he hides. That is the only way we can win. These scumbags cannot be negotiated with nor will they ever surrender. We must understand that the only way we can be victorious is to kill them all. This doesnt condone attacks on civilians like our enemies do, but a complete and entire annihlation of terrorist cells and their supporters. Many people dont want to beleive it but mass extermination of an enemy brings victory more quickly than any political agreement can.

You fight terror with terror. Yes it can be done but Liberals will not let us do it. Wars are fought to be won. If you jellyfish Liberals don't want to do what it takes to win then keep your mouth shut and let someone with balls do it for you and stop getting out troops killed with your stupid notions that you can talk a win. Kill one, another takes his place, so your proposed solution doesn't sound feasible. Psychological warfare can be very useful in this circumstance. The military could take the fact that muslim extremists are very religious, which is something that could be exploited. They could start by dousing the enemies with pigs blood, which would often lead to immediate surrender; one can't to heaven if they die unclean. Maybe even release tapes of captured extremists being doused in blood and executed. That would send a huge wave of fear across their organizations and maybe they would think twice about engaging in terrorist activities.

Mass exterminations would not bring victory against this type of enemy. In this case it would generate more people willing to follow their example. This type of enemy has to be proven wrong. You cannot prove this type of enemy wrong by ignoring the values that you are suppossed to stand for.

The objective of terrorism is to cause the larger power to over-react therefore solidifying the case of those employing terrorism.

Mass extermination would be an over-reaction in my opinion. I think that would be the opinion of any rational sane person honestly.

for starters you have to know your enemy. rule #1. according to my fiance, who is muslim, she says that in the quran it states that if there is a foreign invader occupying muslim lands, all muslim brothers are to come together and drive the occupiers out of all muslim lands.

15 of the 19 hijackers were from saudi arabia, also bin laden's home country, their motive is the presence of our 8 huge military bases their on their holy lands of mecca and medina for the last 20 years. that is the only reason it is a holy war(the quran tells them to drive out all enemy forces and if you die fighting the foreign invaders you can become a martyr. nowhere in the quran does it say that if you kill yourself you are a martyr, by the way. you must be fighting and defending your homeland against foreign invaders) much like how we would like to be remembered if china or russia occupied america and we died fighting for our country.
its not hard to find out why they hate us, and it will never end until we start to listen to them and why they hate us. we have no business being in the middle east. our presence can in no way be justified if you flip the situation and ask yourself would you fight if another country came and forced their way on us, even if you didn't agree with your government, you would defend your country. well, its part of their religion to defend their country.

It can't, truly, be done, and it won't be. As the original responder said, it's been around forever. Think about it, terror is anything that involves one person "terrorizing another person". Essentially, bullying can even be drawn in to this definition.

Nonetheless, your question is likely aimed at modern day terrorism. Tolerance, understanding and fighting the good fight are the ways to go. In other words, we have to know what the 'good fight ' is and put our efforts there and not in vain.

Destroying the muslim "holy" sites in Mecca would help. It would prove that islam is a fraud and those who are thinking about trying for all those virgins they are promised if they kill themselves for their pagan moon god allah will just go to a local bar instead and hope to get lucky with some drunk chicks.
