it's funny how things change. The original xtian, when it was still a small cult, tattoo's a small cross on their wrist, usually hidden under a brace. Looked like a + plus sign.
They did this to know eachother. Why it's changed so much I have no real idea. They have lost quite a bit of the original teachings, what they pass off as the 'holy book' has been edited and rewritten so many times how can it be "HOLY" anymore?

Why would you assume that if you beleive in something you should have a tattoo of it?

I mean, I belive that taco's are the best food around - but I sure as hell would not get a tattoo of a plateful of food.

I do think it would be hipocritical of someone that beleived in Christ did get a tattoo but of Buddah instead. Then there really would be a conflict in statements.

most christians, muslims, jews, wouldnt be open to get tattoos because of the whole , "you body is a temple" thing. Tattoos are something new in the west, the concept of tattoos was stolen from the Pacific islands with the tribal tattoos so its a relatively new fab. Dude you dont have to get a tattoo to prove that you are loyal to your religion, just like you dont have to get a tattoo to prove you are loyal to your wife/gf. Its common sense

People do it all the time, deny Christ that is, while wearing tattoos of Him or representations of Him.

A lot of Christians believe that tattoos are wrong. So it has nothing to do with being scared.

I'd have to respectfully disagree with you. A tattoo is only one way of expressing yourself and ALL people who feel strongly about one thing certainly do not need to do this in order to prove the strength of their feelings.

We are to honour God with all that He gave us including the body. His word says:
(Lev 19:28 KJV) Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.

I've never seen in any holy book that tattooing is required. It's not important anyway, because it's just skin ink and goes no deeper.

What counts is in one's beliefs and one's life and one's relationship and obedience to God, and how they treat others and themselves. That's what God looks at, their piety, not skin ink, which is superficial and unimportant.

No tattoos aren't for everyone.
Some religions are against tattoos.
