Gentle leaders are like a halter for a horse. They use the dogs natural tendency to lean into pressure to prevent them from pulling and are wonderful for training.

Prong collars should rarely be used, especially by inexperienced dog trainers. They have the potential for doing harm.

they are types of "collars" used for training and walking a dog
The prong collar as it sounds is a choke collar that has prongs they are actually more humane than the so called regular collars is shown and used correctly as they apply pressure around the whole neck ( the prongs are not pointy)
The Halti head thing is something that fits something like a lose fitting muzzle but isn't one. The loop to connect the lead to is under the dogs mouth and the idea of these is the dog will follow it's head so you have more control
I have used both and depending on the problem I like both but like the halti the best.

Halti is a head harness that uses light pressure to the nose region to encourage dogs to walk on a loose lead vs. straining their necks against traditional buckle collars.

Prong collars are metal choke collars that have prongs facing into the dogs necks and will apply a pinching to the dog's neck if it strains on the collar or if the owner gives the collar a quick and light pop to the choke. This collar should only be used in training and with proper technique. There is a risk of injury if not properly used.

I have used both and like both for different reasons, and both can be quite effective to encourage a dog to not pull while on leash. I also think that other positive reinforcement techniques should be used with either collar to help the dog to want to walk on a loose lead as apposed to being submitted into walking on a loose lead to avoid pain and discomfort.

hulti is for a dog that pulls. It goes around the nose and pulls there face to the side when they pull you. WORKS AMAZING if your dog is a puller!!
I wouldnt be able to walk my boxer without one!
It's not a musel they can still open the mouth .
Prong collars have a lot of debate issues. It's like spikes digging into the dogs neck ..and i think they have to pull aswell to feel this affect.
If you research online some trainers TOTALLY disagree but yet some think it's ok for larger breeds that tend to me more dominant.
I bought a boxer magazine and the trainer in this magaizine recomended them with of corse proper use. Responsible owners only.

prong collars DO NOT dig into a dog's neck, they pinch a dog that is why they work so well. They are recommended over chokers because they are not as painful and they are easier for anyone to use. Please do some research on your subject before spewing nonsense, thanks.
