Rusty is ok, but when you combine him with country hick Andy Peachtree. It sucks. It's the one place where ESPN really dropped the ball.
I like the coverage they have with ESPN, but the main commentators are below par. Using guys who cover open wheel racing just doesn't cut it. I would like to see the commentating crew from TNT do the ESPN race (that was the only good thing about the TNT production).
The one good thing about Rusty is that he knows when to talk and when not too. That is something about DW that I never could handle. He likes to talk all the time. He talks over the other announcers, and he says a lot of things that are just useless (like when he says things that amuse himself, but don't make much sense).
Hard to perfect things like this though.

If you took Kurt Busch in 20 years and made him an announcer he would be Rusty Wallace.
Rusty sucks, Andy Petree is the only one worth listening to.

I don't know about the Gordon jealousy angle but I answered and earlier question saying that I never saw him as that great of a personality as a driver and I really don't see it in him as a commentator.

I SO do not like Rusty as a commentator. He did say one funny thing today though. When Harvick and Montoya were wrecked he said "are they gonna fight? I want to see this!"

I haven't heard Rusty cover a Nascar event, but he really sucks bad when he covers the IRL.

He bores me, I'd rather have his brother Kenny doing the races he might as well he never does any good hardly makes any races. Andy Petree is okay, I keep the radio and my track pass going.. I sure do miss BP, he was great..
