salt allows water to boil faster
soaking fresh beans overnight will soften them and soaking beans in salt water will soften them even more but you may taste the salt

Positively yes to the soaking and I'm positive that salting them in the beginning makes them tough so I always salt towards the end. Therefore, I'll never know positively if salting the last few mins. speeds the cooking time.

I am asian so I eat been alot. First put the beans in a pan with cold water and than let it sit for at least 1 hour and when cooking the beans put the seasoning before and than the beens.

YES!

Add salt last. Soak overnight in the fridge, and pour off that water when you go to cook them to reduce gassiness.

I think that they cook faster, and more evenly if you soak them first. It is the "proper" way to cook them. I usually soak mine over night, and then cook them in the morning. Good luck!

I like soaknig in the crockpot on low 6 hours then overnight
