i agree, i just sent and e-mail saying the same thing to them and also re mined them that nascar requires the top 5 to stick around for media interviews and here the main network has to go to sport center that is broadcast all night, i would rather put up with DW if it meant hearing the top 5 and how about Carl i would love to hear how his ride was in the gravel and still ending up 8th ESPN sucks, they used to be so good when they 1st did it but now they are more interested in something else, i bet the sponsors are not to pleased either, the drivers don't get say who they are Tony didn't even say Home depot car, and Jeff never said the DuPont car,Brian France i s more interested in getting the most amount of money for the least amount of coverage

I know, this is getting so annoying. I take back EVERYTHING I ever said about not liking NBC's coverage.
Cheers!
NASCARdomis makes a good point, but ESPN has interrupted their own programming before for other things. Like they have turned off ATH/PTI a couple of times when (usually some baseball player) a record is about to be broken. And it's just Sportscenter, all that show is about is recapping the day, they can start when the race is finished. I'm still upset when they cut Tony off from kissing the bricks at Indy.

The broadcast went 50 minutes over the scheduled time. That is why they cut out so quickly. If it hadn't of been for the red flag period, the race still would have been over the scheduled amount, but I think they would have stuck with the nascar broadcast for a few minutes longer. They did get a few post race interviews in. Better than what TNT did a couple of times. I will take ESPN over TNT any day of the year. Besides. There is so much coverage of Nascar these days that it is getting overwhelming.
Many of you may not like hearing this, but I would say that an overdose of TV coverage has led to the decline in viewership.
It has been said best: "Too much of a good thing is a bad thing" Nascar has reached the level of diminishing returns.

Rome is 100% better on the radio. As far as ESPN...well, since we are in the football section and you have asked this type of question...I will air my beef towards ESPN/ABC college football sports casting. WTF?! Seriously (pardon my language), but why must we see the commentators every other play. I'm not saying they are ugly or anything like that, but I don't care about the back story of players or what famous people on the sidellines think or what FRIGGIN tie any of them are wearing. SHOW THE GAME!! AND... Why WHY do they switch to another game if the game is "well in hand"??? Do the second or third string players of the winning team not matter? The worst is when they switch over to another game that is ALREADY ON ABC!! For example, I'm a WVU fan. Always have and always will be. I'm watching the WVU vs UConn game and in the middle of the 3rd Quarter they switch to the in studio people so they can update us on the scores and then send us to the (sorry forgetting which actual game) college game that is ALREADY ON ABC!! So, now, instead of being able to see two different games on two channels, I am no FORCED to watch one game on both channels. What gives?? I think the thing that ticks me the most off is that they wouldn't do this to OSU or LSU or Florida, but anyone else...eh, screw em...we know this game is done. It's ridiculous. Plus the commentary has gotten so trite these days it's ridiculous. There I said...

This is why ESPN lost it before, because they were so laxed. They would even run the Trucks when they wanted to, not live.
AT least Nascar Victory Lane is on at 5 PST (8 EST)

The race ended right at 6:00 and it would have interupted their regular programming, but they already had a captured audience and we would have all liked to hear more from the Burton, Montoya and Tony and MY MAN Carl.

All of the networks seem to have their little quirks, but just be thankfull we actually get to see all the races. Wasn't too long ago when only some were televised. I'll take bad coverage over no coverage any day.

espn is killing nascar. brad daugherty never even raced. nascar needs to be broadcast on fox or tnt. espn just wants the money and is killing the spirit of the sport. they do a very poor job overrall. I also find rusty wallace good, but want him with good ole dw and larry mcreynolds

I love this!!!! You NASCAR fans couldn't stop bitching and moaning about NBC's coverage, all the while pining for ESPN to return. Well now ESPN is back and guess what? More bitching and moaning.
