The Bible says that we are to hide His word in our hearts. It also says that the Holy men of God wrote as the Holy Ghost moved upon them. In the psalms God wrote that he would Keep His Word pure and preserved for all time. It also claims that not one jot or one tittle shall be changed!

Not sure where you are going with this. The Bible was put together by religious leaders in an organized manner so the world could have God's truth in front of them for spiritual guidance. It tells a story from the beginning of man to the death of Jesus. It is inspired by God himself to his children (us). The books of the Bible come from hundreds of century's. They were preserved in jars, etc. They were assembled and pressed into one book. They tell a perfect story, that statistically is nearly impossible because of how many authors wrote the books, but yet when put together, they make sense. That's another story though.
As far as the word "Bible", you can find that on Wikipedia:
The Bible (from Greek (τα) βιβλια, (ta) biblia, "(the) books", plural of βιβλιον, biblion, "book", originally a diminutive of βιβλος, biblos, which in turn is derived from βυβλος—byblos, meaning "papyrus", from the ancient Phoenician city of Byblos which exported this writing material), is the classical name for the Hebrew Bible ...

actually the word "book" as found in the new testament in places such as:

"Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea." - Revelation 1:11.

Concerning the applying of the beginning of the writings of the Bible, please note:

(Deuteronomy 6:4-9) “. . .“Listen, O Israel: Jehovah our God is one Jehovah. 5 And you must love Jehovah your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your vital force. 6 And these words that I am commanding you today must prove to be on your heart; 7 and you must inculcate them in your son and speak of them when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road and when you lie down and when you get up. 8 And you must tie them as a sign upon your hand, and they must serve as a frontlet band between your eyes; 9 and you must write them upon the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”

(Deuteronomy 32:45-47) “45 After Moses finished speaking all these words to all Israel, 46 he went on to say to them: “Apply YOUR hearts to all the words that I am speaking in warning to YOU today, that YOU may command YOUR sons to take care to do all the words of this law. 47 For it is no valueless word for YOU, but it means YOUR life, and by this word YOU may lengthen YOUR days upon the soil to which YOU are crossing the Jordan to take possession of it.””
