Well, it's only really the first one that I know about. Someone posted a question that was really just a flame at another member. The complaint was that, although the person had been helpful, the answer was tinged with sarcasm. I politely suggested that the poster might want to remove the question before it was reported, as it was definitely a personal attack that Yahoo! would not tolerate. I see that the question has been removed and all of this asker's questions are now moarked "Private," so you can't see them. I guess that was easier than removing them one-by-one. If you check the profile, it now reads, "I'm gone..." Maybe that's just a cool thing to say, but I have a feeling that the member changed the profile today and quit. Who knows.

As far as the sarcasm, I looked up several answers from the flamed one to the offended one and, frankly I think the asker must be rather thin-skinned, because I didn't see anything that was horribly offensive or insulting.

SO, maybe it's not a great loss, but this was a newer member who might not have fallen into the Fellowship spirit quite yet.

I'm just passing this along, because nobody would really know about it otherwise.

Ryan, I don't really care. The asker seemed rather tempramental to me, but I didn't say so in any of my answers. I took my camera with me yesterday and felt rather sarcastic myself: http://www.flickr.com/photos/samfeinstein/1089930110/

Keith, thank you very much. I guess we are trying to build a community within a community and not everyone is along for that ride. Now I'll have to go back and read your answer, since I feel like there was something else I meant to say...

Oh yeah. The me-me-me generation. I agree. You can't get applause for EVERYTHING you do. One told me that I was stupid for not clicking on her photos to make them larger. I mean she actually called me stupid. I was just saying that - even when you clicked on them - 680 pixels was not enough to give a serious evaluation and I suggested uploading bigger pictures.

I miss it when an interested newcomer stops asking questions, because we can all learn by answering them.

Anonymous, this question is for a group of friends. It's the easiest way we have for communicating. I'm sorry that I sound so opinionated to you and I hope that you don't judge me by this one question. (As if you will come back to read the comments............)

The only greater waste of your time besides reading my comments was the time it took to give a meaningless and offensive answer.

However, for anyone who wants to see what ranks as really important in life, click on anonymous's avatar and then read some of his questions. I have not laughed so hard for days. Antoni, this means you! Have a drink at hand, though.

Bri~Anne, you're not kidding and I know it.

Anotoni, there's just no point in trying to figure some people out. Eedjits!!! That's not English, either. Just shout it out loud repeatedly until you get it.

I love this place. I find it all amusing in my own twisted way. Just goes to show you, there are children in every age group. If they can't take a little constructive criticism, they shouldn't be asking questions to begin with. Right?? You shouldn't have to sugar coat your answers just to appease the sniveling cry-baby masses. Poster children for sterilization.
Kidding ;-)

On one hand Dr Sam if the person is genuinely "thin skinned" and they are really upset about what has happened, then I worry for them because they are going to face bigger problems than that in life, for which it would appear they are ill equipped to face. On the other hand, I work at a school. Although not directly involved with education I am close to it every day which gives me an interesting viewpoint. All kids at our school are actively taught that they are winners, they are the best, there's no such thing as failure etc. We are so carefully nurturing their fragile little egos that they become completely self absorbed. Everything is about them as individuals. Whilst children show individual characteristics at times, overall they are heading down the road of "I am the best thing there is, everything should just come to me without any effort on my part and I always deserve the best and people should just look after me and treat me like royalty." Sadly I have had a child run down the stairs with a stiff arm held straight on in front, shoving me in the groin, whilst yelling "get out of my way." My crime? I was between them and the play ground.

When this type of person doesn't get precisely what they are looking for from Yahoo Answers and with everything in life, then some great crime has been committed against them personally which requires some form of retribution. I have seen a question on here along the lines of "When I add someone as a contact here on answers, don't you think it's really rude when they don't add you in return."

Dr Sam you come to answers with both something to offer and something to learn. You wish to use this place as a forum to throw out ideas and question and have the community stretch and improve those ideas for the benefit of all. I personally applaud this intent but sadly and perhaps somewhat pessimistically I find your excellent character to be the exception rather than the rule.

As for this person you mention, it is indeed a great shame that they didn't simply relax, integrate themselves and avail themselves of all that a worldwide community such as this has to offer.

It is most certainly worth pause and comment.

Dr. Sam.

Step away from the PC, grab your camera, and go find something to shoot.

If the kiddies cant get along, and gotta go have a tantrum, who cares??

JMHO

Gee, I hope no one takes this as offensive.

I can't believe I just took the time to read through that. Its almost as worthless as anwsering a question nobody asked from someone who loves to have opinions on unimportant subjects heard.
