Eartha Q, a Christian is free to go where ever he/she wants to.
It is not where you go but what you expose yourself to or allow yourself to do. I plan to visit Las Vegas because I am interesting in seeing the Hoover Dam, go on some desert tours and many other sights that are offered. There is also shopping, horseback riding, and museums. I really do want to see the bright lights at night too!
You do not have to drink, gamble or see unquestionable shows just because that is why others may go.
Enjoy your trip sweetie

Las Vegas is a wonderful city. There is culture here, there is even a section of North Las Vegas Boulevard which is called I think culture row, where there is a great library, theatre, museums, park, convention center.
Vegas is a big city and it is no longer a small dusty Casino town, that is a small hub at the center of a city of now over 2 million people, and it is one giant suburb.
There are an endless number of fine restaurants in Vegas. There are many sushi restaurants. There are even a few Ethiopian restaurants. A great many Thai restaurants. And an absolutely wonderful Russian restaurant (well two there is also an expensive one in Mandalay Bay).
The entertainment is also great. The Circ Du Soleil shows are many and varied and are some of the most elaborate shows in the world with much of the greatest talent. One woman I know is a top African dancer who works in a Circ show and I know a man who is a top dancer who workes in another Circ show.
Many people come to vegas because the cost of living is relatively low and jobs are plentiful. Research how many people move here per month and you wont believe the numbers.
The weather is perfect, though very hot in the summer, but I love the heat, admittedly July was rough.
There is also neighboring Lake Meade, Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, Red Rock (with trails, etc...), and Mt. Charleston is only 30 minutes away and you can go skiing there, and Los Angeles is not too far, a day's drive, or 5 or 6 hours non stop. Mountains surround Vegas and it is beautiful. There are many wide open spaces all throughout vegas, about 11 libraries, a few colleges and a couple of universities (UNLV, and U. Arizona has departments here also). There is the UNLV Ballet company. There are great shopping malls and shopping plazas everywhere. We even have Fashion shows in Fashion show mall. The casinos today are, for the big casinos, mega resorts with shopping malls, and fine restaurants. The police don't slack here, they are like the FBI.
There are churches everwhere. And there are other communities such as particular dance communities, that keep growing all the time.
I am a christian and I probably never would have moved here, but part of my family moved here. And it has been an upgrade in life style for me; new friends, though I miss my NY friends.
The only draw back for me has been the architecture is not exciting, the houses are luxurious but the styles are not interesting; I appreciated LA because those styles are diverse and beautiful. Every one lives in communities where the land is small per home but the landscaping is nice.
There are many reasons why people can't move here fast enough. And now there are people here from all over the world.
What I would do is rent a car when you get here, then travel a bit and see things, you can still go to the casinos if you want to because there are enormous parking garages at all of them; too many people are here for a few days or a week and stay at one casino, that is borring, though there is public transporation and it is easy to go from one mega resort to another. Oh and try to pick some nice clubs to go to.
Even if only 80 percent of people here were Christians that would still be 1.6 million people. Hello?
(It almost sounds like I have just given a description of heaven)

I'm a Christian, and I've been there. In fact, I went with a Christian friend who'd been there many times for work, so she showed me around. We had a great time.
You know, there's no law in the city that says you have to gamble. Anywhere you go in the country, you'll come across temptation. Doesn't mean you have to give in to it. Obviously if you can't handle the temptation, you shouldn't be going.

Yes, a christian can go anywhere as he pleased and enjoy the perfect liberty but he has to stay within the boundaries that the Bible teaches.
Of course a christian is not allowed to gamble, watched pornographic movies and get married intoxicated.

I've been there to see Celion Dion! It was amazing and she is an awesome singer! I had a great time. And yes I gambled and won some quarters which I used to play. I went home with a pocket book full of quarters. I even lost my purse in the air port and someone that found it returned it in and it was mailed to me! There's good and bad parts to the city--such as life!

Rate,no waiting period, Okla; would be #1 if there was no waiting,as it is #2; I believe it would interfere with My Comumion with God, and I would be going against my Concious if I went;

I am a Christian and I don't see anything wrong with going to Vegas. It is all about what is in your heart and your actions. I think Christians focus so much on if you drink or gamble and forget about what it says in the Bible about moderation.

I think the question should rather be 'What should a Christian do and not do in Las Vegas?'

yes you can if you really want to....but you must know the right places to go...there are a lot of other fun things to do there besides all of the bad stuff Las Vegas is known for, just have fun and avoid that stuff... maybe do some reasearch of some activities that you can do there first
