Find a really good endocrinologist and a really good obstetrician and let them help you through this. Strangers on a genealogy board from half way around the world are a poor substitute for good doctors in your own area.

Apparently you asked your question from the Yahoo Questions and Answers Home Screen. When you do this Yahoo system picks out key word and put it is a category. You can change it but you might not notice that. I would imagine the word "mum" put it in the genealogy category.

When you are on the Home Screen of Yahoo Questions and Answers, look on the left and there are categories and then when you pull up the category, you will see subcategories.

I had a total thyroidectomy when I was 18 in 1953. My metabolism was slow even though I had a goiter. The secretion from the gland only worked in the area of the gland. I have to take thyroid today 0.2 Levothroid. There was a time when I took 0.3 but going through menopause apparently changed my metabolism.
. Has your doctor suggested a thyroid supplement? You really need to discuss this with him.

A slow thyroid is a medical problem. Being 29 year old is not. It is all right to have a child at any age it is possible.

If it is not possible then you may want to consider fostering or adopting a child.

The medical question if it is possible must be asked to your doctor. He or She will perform tests to see if you do have the capability of being a mom.

Good luck.

Also, above the space for writing your question is a box called check spelling. If the computer is not too slow, it will help catch most errors before you post.
I checked this also.

Although most first-time mothers are younger than you, a growing number of women are becoming mothers for the first time in their 40s and 50s. Society is perfectly willing to accept what works best for you and your prospective child.

The United Nations has furnished a "Mean Age" for first birth for mothers in the following selected countries:

Finland 27.4
France 27.8
Hong Kong 28.3
the Netherlands 29.0
Poland 24.1
Singapore 28.1
Spain 28.9
United States 25

As you can see, you are just a little older than average for mothers living in most industrialized countries.

You posted this under the genealogy section. This is a medical question. You should post it under the medical section to get a proper response. And, you should also correct your spelling and grammar first before you re-post it under medical.

Yes, most women become mums when they are younger.

It's OK, though. Don't worry. You can be a good mum.
