my child is going through the exact same thing right now, though she's 10. it is possibly a bladder infection. this may have been caused by wiping from back to front, she's basically wiping s*** into her "part." have her drink alot of fluids, especially cranberry juice. if it persists for longer than 2 weeks, my suggestion is to see a doctor. oh, one thing, ask her if her urine is cloudy.

Yes, my friend actually had this when she was young. It was caused from too many bubble baths...

She explained to me that it was a urinary tract infection. You must go to the doctor. Your daughter might feel uncomfortable when the doctor has to look up "there" so request a female doctor and no need to push her to take off her pants, just be patient with her in the doctor's office. (my friend's mother kept pushing her!)

While taking the medication, the doctor also advised for her to drink cranberry juice. It will help, but still go to the doctor to get medicine.

It definitely sounds like a urinary tract infection, and it can only be cured with antibiotics. And in response to the person who said a Dr. would have to examine your daughter and "look up there" that is wrong. The only thing necessary at this point would be for them to have her pee in a cup to be examined at a lab. If she goes on to have frequent infections then it might be necessary for a Dr. to examine her. But since this sounds like her first one, a physical exam of her urinary tract would be unnecessary and traumatic for her. Good luck, I hope she feels better soon, UTI's are so uncomfortable.
