my 12 yr old grandson has to be in bed at 8:30 or he won't get up at 6am. Guess it depends on how you feel during the day at school and if your attention is okay on less than the needed 9 or 10 hours of sleep the average 12 yr old needs. Try different bedtimes- if it's ok with your parents- and see at what time you can go to sleep and still wake up on your own without an alarm clock and be ok all day.

Depends what time your child gets up in the morning.

Children need 9 hours of sleep. So, if they need to be up by 6:30, then the bedtime is 9:30

When I was 12, my bedtime was 9:00 on school nights. We had to be in our bedrooms. On weekends, I could stay up to 10:00 or 11:00 depending what was on television, or what our family plans were.

It depends on when you have to get up and how much sleep your body needs. My 13 year old goes to bed at 9:00 on school nights because she has to get up at 6:00. That's 9 hours of sleep. But it's still summer right now and she stays up until about 11:00 and sleeps in until about 8:00. That's also 9 hours of sleep. Figure out how much sleep you need and when you need to get up and count backwards. I don't think there should be a standard time for all 12 year olds because everyone's body need a different amount of sleep.
