I mean, here they were, looking at their calendars, noticing that the dates were all in >>B.C.<<, and kept getting closer and closer to zero each year. And then the calendar changes to "Anno Domine" (The year of the Lord).
It wouldn't take a genious to figure out that something big involving a Lord was going to happen, and when. And those "wise" men - they may have needed a star to guide them, but they should have known to be looking for someone when the Calendar changed to 1 AD.

Dim: There was never a period in history dated, 0 (zero) B.C.
That would imply that the measure of time is non-existent. Actually, Christ is depicted as being born around 4 A.D. .
This prophecy concerning the birth of a Messiah was well-known. The "wise men" - Magi from the East were not Jewish but Persians (Zoroastrians), who studied the stars.
Even, the part Jewish - part Turkish king Herod fore-knew about the arrival of a Messiah [Jesus] onto the scene.

it's like someone saying that Jesus was coming again in 2000 AD. no one could have guessed it even though there was a transition from B.C to A.D. it also doesn't take a genius to spell genius right

They didn't have a calendar back then. It wasn't until the virgin birth that there was a reference point to determine the dates.

You've got to think during that time period it was, I mean come on, it was an advancement not to mention in awe, things that we have today would be considered magic and mystifying to them back then so yeah it was a big deal. They knew it was going to change everything.

List not to the laughter of the proud above me surely they are in error and running faster than the ginger bread mad with a broken leg you did watch Shrek.. one had a broken leg and the other had fallin in a huge pot of coffee, tea anyone! lol

He is coming he promised us and he will return and he will break the idols and all things at are swine and he will pray in Syria with the Imams and they will say you are Jesus you pray you lead he says no, we have our own faith you lead you have people appointed for that. 7 periods of peace with no tax on anyone and no interest and then the great war begins.

Final day will come and all will have no choice that day.
Jesus will leave with the followers of the book he had, John Baptist is confirmed prophet and true friend of Jesus, Muhammed SAW and all the prophets so we must respect tehir book and learn from it, as Jesus respected us so manytimes we had great care from our christian or catholic brothers and we threw it all away. May you forgive us inshAllah and your still helping today.. Indonesia where muslims died by the hundreds and or thousands, and who came, it was our brothers again.. surely we are not worthy!

Forgive us and we will try to keep our focus to all of them we correct our own faith first and then we will stand in peace inshAllah that is my goal and I pray he gives me strength to overcome the hardship to come.

Salam

I don't think their calendars counted down 'til A.D. back then. Didn't we establish B.C. and A.D. only after Jesus came?

newsflash: the whole BC, AD thing was actually invented BECAUSE of Jesus. BC stands for before christ, AD stands for after death. that didn't come into existance until after Jesus had lived
