When I praise Jesus it opens up my spirit to receive what God has for me at that moment. Also when I go to church and we praise together, the presence of God comes down and meets people and their needs. This is when I have seen miracles take place. It says that "God inhabits the praises of His people" I guess it is like making a place for Him to dwell and hold His great presence. It also makes me feel clean, like I had a spiritual shower. It changes me, heals me, makes me a better human being to serve others.

The point of praise is to show GOD how much you appreciate HIM for all he has done and what he will do. You thank HIM for breathing, working, being able to move your body and tongue. I must admit I don't praise GOD as often as I should but when I do, you feel HIS spirit in the room. There are many praises you can do, you can sing, dance, pray, talk and do almost anything that brings glory to GOD. He hears you and he loves you for it.

Because praise is the right thing to do, thats what the point is.
If someone does something good for you, what should you do? You send them a "Thank You" note or a phone call, or an e-mail to show them how much they mean to you, and how much you appreciate their care.
Same thing with praise to God.

Why does a Christian praise, or what is the purpose of praising? It is to give honor to the man who died for our sins. As Christians, we revere the Savior for bringing the new and everlasting gospel, for coming down from His throne in Heaven to dwell among us, and for showing us examples of forgiveness, love, service, and the ultimate act of laying down His life so that we may have life.
For me, the most perfect act of praising is to follow the Savior's example of love and how he treated his fellow human being and to be the best person I can be each and every day.
Good question!

Couple of things..one is that it opens your heart and gets you ready to hear what your pastor may say..two it is required by God he wants us to praise him...three.. we should want to praise him he has given us eternal life and we need to thank him for it. Praise can come in different forms..music, prayer, etc. Find what works best for you, I am not big into singing but I find that the music at church really helps get me into the right frame of mind after a crazy week.

The point of praise is to bring glory to the name of God. I have found that by always giving praise to God for everything and I do mean everything my life is much richer I have found that by giving praise to God I the enemy has a much harder time in taking away my joy. Praising God for everything I find much more joy in my life.
By giving praise to God you take away the power of the enemy because he can not touch anything that is given to our Lord and savior Jesus Christ

The point: God inhabits our praise. The closer I can get to God, the better.

It helps bring us into touch with reality.
When we praise God from a sincere heart, we are coming into a right perception of the true nature of things, simply because He is completely praiseworthy and deserving of all thanks, honor and adoration. God calls us to do this because it secures our safety, and this is what pleases Him that it may go well with us.
"If my people would but listen to me,
if Israel would follow my ways,
how quickly would I subdue their enemies
and turn my hand against their foes!
Those who hate the LORD would cringe before him,
and their punishment would last forever.
But you would be fed with the finest of wheat;
with honey from the rock I would satisfy you."
