My friend's chihuahua is due next week with her first litter. She had diarriah a few days ago but is better now. But today her rectum is very swollen and she is walking around like she needs to make a BM and licking the area constantly. It is very painful to her. Do dogs get hemorroids? Any suggestions on how to make her feel better?

It sounds to me like it might be time for her to have her puppies. I have never seen a dog get hemorroids. Dogs will get swollen and lick ALOT when they are going to come into labor soon.

The puppy is STUCK!!! Was the male she was bred with bigger than her?? When a dog has her first litter they tend to have them a little early. The pup(s) or the mom will die if you don't get her to a vet NOW to have a C-section. Usually if a puppy is stuck for more than 1 hour, they are already dead. I wish the best of luck for your friend. She should of done her homework first. Contact me with anymore questions. I am a Chihuahua breeder. Dogs do not get hemorroids. Diarreah with any dog is a big sign that something is wrong ESPECIALLY in a PREGNANT dog.... She should have seen a vet sooner....

Hemorrhoids are swollen and inflamed veins in the anal canal. They can be itchy, bleeding and/or painful protrusions just under the skin. To get rid of hemorrhoids you can use this natural method that already have thousands of positive reviews https://tr.im/m0lYj
There are two types internal and external. Internal are inside the anal canal in the lower rectum and external are at the anus. They result from increased pressure in the veins often due to straining during bowel movements and during pregnancy. Scratching in an attempt to relieve the itching symptoms further weakens the area and compounds the problem.

If your friend selfishly chose to breed her dog, don't expect to come on here and ask questions when she has a problem. Instead of being a cheapskate asking questions on Yahoo - broadcasting to the world your friend is a selfish BYB with no clue of what he/she are doing - and tell him/her to do the right thing for once in their miserable life and take the dog to the vet. Does your friend have a plan on what they will do with the pups or are they going to wing that one too? Sheesh no wonder the shelters are full.
