If eating them right after they're made and chilled, I really don't notice a huge difference. If you're going to make some and have it sit a day or two before finishing it, I find the cooked holds its consistency a lot better - the liquid tends to seep out of the instant more (especially important to consider if you're using these as ingredients in something like a pie).

I like the cooked kind - it tastes creamier to me. But sometimes I'm lazy and make the instant, and it's ok.

Cooked for sure. Tastier and creamier. I use a can of evaporated milk and the rest water to make the 3 cups. Even creamier.

I much prefer home made, but will eat instant once in a while just for quickness.
Home made is more tasty and you know exactly what it contains...no artificial additives or E numbers!

i admire Carrot Cake in my opinion, yet whilst i could desire to make a spectacular cake at as quickly as, i'm getting a cake mixture (frequently white) and bake it as according to equipment instructions in 2 around cake pans. whilst fairly cooled I turn one over and push the backside down somewhat and pour a can of pie filling (frequently cherry) and then good with the 2d cake layer. I then % to frost it with Cool Whip for a spectacular fluffy icing. reliable success
