Seems we could multiply and overpopulate the planet even faster that way, for Him.

ROFL .... "Corporate" people only think about making money, they don't think about overpopulation.

Overpopulation is simply a function of basic LOGIC

ROFL again .... SDC, by all other accounts people are living longer today that a few centuries ago because of improved medicine (at least until we get overdependent on antibiotics and screw ourselves out of progress)

Awesome sauce ... thank you for mentioning Malthus .... again, this isnt rocket science ... if people apply the same logic to other areas they see it, but with humanity they just don't WANT to see it (because we are an emotional species).

ROFL#3 ... why would a perfect being ever need to change its mind?

ROFL#4 ... 40 days of flooding (no other inputs into the system) "changed the atmosphere"?!?!?!?! What kind of science do you call that?

I imagine that if you are a Creationist, you already answered your own question: no we didn't evolve shorter life spans. We never lived to be 950 to begin with.

CJ ... as a really oversimplified example .... how many cars can a gallon of gas fuel, and/or for how long?

For the hell of it let's also assume gas came from corn, and that you had room for an acre of corn, but eventually you had to use that whole acre for your cars instead.

This isn't rocket science.

Because Christians want you to believe in Jesus instead of believing in yourself.

At the beginning of 20th century the world population was about 1.6 billion and in little over a century we have added about 5 billions. Imagine what would have happened if we lived 950 years!

If you compare the ages of people before and after Noah, you will find a drastic reduction in longevity after the Flood which means there was a dramatic change in earth's constituents as a result of the Flood.

And no, you need not bother about overpopulating the planet. God has many more planets in His universe than there are people. Just our galaxy (Milky Way) has 100 billion stars. Even if each star has just one habitable planet like ours still we would have 100 billion planets to populate! And yes, don't forget about an estimated 100 billion galaxies out there!

we don't have to have 50 kids to be fruitful, just a few is multiplying. that was more necessary a long time ago because the earth wasn't as full, but now there really is no way that the human race is going to go extinct, there are plenty of us to keep it going. and the reason people used to live so long before is because when the earth was created , god put a water firmament around it. like a water canopy, it blocked out the harmful rays of the sun, helped prevent disease, and kept out potassium 40, which causes the aging process. therefore people lived much longer and healthier lives. after the flood of noah, the water canopy was a part of it and fell to the earth, now they don't have that protection, and the aging becamer quicker, this also has to do with the dinosaurs, but thats another story.

God's intention was for PERFECT, RIGHTEOUS individuals to inhabit the earth forever, being 'fruitful"
We are nowhere near that state now.. the world is overrun with sinful, violent, selfish people who do not worship the true God or even acknowledge Him.
Why would a loving God permit your request when He's been sounding the warning that soon He will bring to ruin, those ruining the earth.?

My point is brought out in the scriptures at Psalm 37:10-11, it reads:" And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more. And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. [11] "But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, and they will find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace."

the word "meek" means teachable; those ones who are willing to learn who God is and conform their lives to HIS standards.

Jehovah's purpose for "obedient" mankind hasn't changed....the righteous will possess the earth and reside forever upon it......but only after the wicked [disobedient] have been removed.

There is no way that we can live to be 950 because the earth would not allow it. We have too much pollution and too much disease. When Noah got off the boat God told him that the years would be 120. That is because the earth's atmosphere had been changed because of the flood. When God created man, he knew how many people would eventually populate the earth until the end came. I guess He is right on schedule.

In todays time it is not needed. The population is growing fast. Back in Noah's(peace be upon him) the populations was not growing like it is now. That is just my guess. I am not God so I can't answer for sure why God has made our life spans what they are.

It's not about just getting children. A person who wants children has to fulfill rights towards them. That takes time and effort. If a person wanted to get the maximum amount of children in his lifetime, that person would not be thinking about how difficult it is to raise a large amount of children at the same time. God ordered the people to worship Him. Not putting time on for your children to make sure they are raised properly is not in compliance with that.

It may be that with the overpopulation, this may be a case where He changed His mind. He's done that in the Bible so He must know.

Gets a bit boring here after 100 - when you can't see, can't hear and can't walk; and the only thing that multiplies is your aches and pains.
