I am planning on moving the next few years to Brooklyn. How far is Bay Ridge from the Brooklyn Bridge?

How far is it taking the R train?

if you take the R train its about a hour n a half ride if you want to be on the manhattan end but if you want the bklyn end then you would have to get off and walk to the bridge...that ride would be a little less than a hour

By car, 15 minutes. By subway get off at Court Street and walk about 10 minutes to the bridge. By subway, it's 12 stops from Bay Ridge Avenue to Court Street.

You're moving in the next few YEARS? Well then, you have plenty of time to do your research, and besides, routes may very well change between now til then- not dramatically, but with construction always going on, there may be detours and such. It may be best to research your routes when you're closer to your moving date so you know what exactly you need to look forward to. good luck.
