No, not a good plan. There are way to many things that could go wrong and injure your dog. I''m thinking you don't want that to happen.

Not a good idea at all. I like dressing up my dog also but earrings are going too far. When you pierce ears you have to keep them very clean. Not a good idea because dogs are not going to be able to do this. Also you run the risk of the dog bitting and pulling at this in his or her ear ( likeness that they can swallow the earring). Don't do this. Tell you mom to get a doll or something and pierce there ears.

I work at a veterinary hospital and years ago this lady brought in a dog with ears pierced. The lady did it herself and the dog suffered a great deal from the earrings she used to put in. A foreign object on a dogs ears only make the dog want to get it off of them. The pain and the discomfort of something unnatural like an earring wil make the dog crazy. Remind your mom that a dog is a dog. It is not a dress up dolly for middle aged women.

I don't think it is a good idea as it would be very easy to catch on something and rip the ear open. Dogs love to play with one another and this is just a recipe for disaster if you have a dog with a piercing of some sort as dogs almost always go for the ears in play and in a fight.

Please ask your mom to reconsider and not do this for the good of the dog.

I've been around for 52 years and I've never ever heard of a dog wearing earings

It is not a wise idea to pierce a dogs ears- as a dog will scratch at a piercing and and cause an infection- which could lead to an abscess and antibiotics / subsequent surgery. I suggest you highly discourage your mother from doing this. She is uninformed and I would consider piercing a dogs ears as a reckless action.

No, dog's don't use earrings. That's just tormenting the dog treating him like a little doll, dressing him up,putting earrings on him/her. The dog wouldn't like it much. In my opinion, don't do it.

that is such a BAD idea for so many reasons.
One is the dog may not want earrings, it has no choice, therefore it is cruel to pierce a dog's ears.

Another is the likelihood of the dog tearing the earrings out and tearing an earflap. That is cruel and will bleed like nobody's business.

Your mom is an idiot.

Oh for pete's sake.

NO.

It's a DOG. Not a FASHION ACCESSORY.

If your mother wants to put earrings on something, have her punch holes in YOUR ears.
