Since you already have the ISO image you are ready to install.

1) Create your new virtual machine specifing ram/virtual HD size.

2) select the new virtual machine and boot it by clicking the "start" button. This boots the machine up without an os and will sit there trying to load an OS over the network.

3)Click on the "CD" menu and choose "Capture ISO image" and navigate to your iso file.

4) Restart the virtual machine my clicking on the "Action" menu and choosing reset.

The virtual machine will reboot and attempt to boot from the ISO image. From this point you will be able to run the installer. This is also a faster way of installing than having the actuall CD.

Hope that helps.

If Virtual PC is like VMware, you should be able to download an .ISO file for the Linux install media and mount the ISO file directly in the Virtual PC as a drive (without needing hard media). You'll want to get the DVD version of the install .ISO so you have everything in one file rather than using the CDROM version (which has about 4-5 CDROM ISO files).

Hope this helps.

You can use an external hard drive or a flash drive if it has enough gigabits. Probably the easiest and least expensive is to buy some blank dvd 4.7 gigabit disks. I bought 10 for $4.00. A dvd disk holds about 6 times as much data as a cd disk. Therefore you wont need as many as if you used cd disks anyway.

that's good if u do not choose extreme overall performance video games. It won't impression lots coz usually digital workstation is sluggish. I lots fairly bypass with VMWare. no question is a stupid question ;). seems such as you prefer to place in Linux on your majorchronic fairly than on digital workstation. Yup that's available and it does not corrupt ur latest abode windows. particularly if u had linux after which you had tried abode windows....it would desire to have snarled each and every thing. abode windows messes up Linux badly. yet Linux partition won't impression ur abode windows device. it is going to create a bootloader...which immediately will upload the alternative of abode windows loading. ensure you install it on emptychronic. suitable theory is to format one empty partition initially while ur abode windows is working. while u restart and commence the linux isntallation u can use that vacant partition for linux setting up. it is going to look after each and every thing. It won't impression latest documents in any way watsoever :D

download the image
boot from the image location.
when asked the location of image choose (drive letter):\path\to\image\location.
Virtual machines can boot from the file itself.

I think you can download to your hard drive. You may need to partition your existing hard drive.
