Just use the ol' rule I use: If it fits through a toilet paper roll then don't let her play w/ it. Otherwise she can play w/ it as long as she can't chew something off.

I had bought my 1 year toys that are marked 2 years simply because thats what he wanted to play with. Hot Wheels cars are great toys but they are marked 2 and up. My little one first saw a Hot Wheels toy at 18 months and still at 2 years old hasnt put them down! I would go with what you think she can handle. If she still puts things in her mouth, then I would just make sure she cant swollow them or are huge. We have a basket of groceries too and my 2 year old loves them. Sometimes I feel that those age markings are just a suggestion for the age a child will actually be able to "play" wth the toy and also it might be to protect their butts just in case. I would just use your own judgement. I also just bought my son, for his birthday, an ages 3 and up, huge train table set. The pieces are large enough to where he wont swallow them and he is past that phase anyway. We bought it anyway. He is just going to run the train on the track, not eat it!

Depends -- does she put everything in her mouth? If so, the toys should be big enough to not fit through a toilet paper roll. If she doesn't really put things into her mouth AND you supervise her while she's playing with them, I'd say it's fine. Probably, some of the food pieces are larger than others. Maybe you let her have some larger ones and see how it goes, then go from there...

As long as you do not see anything on them that could be a choking hazard they should be just fine. If they have parts that could eventually come loose and fall off then maybe you should think twice. I have an 18 month old and 3 year old and they basically just share toys. I am sure from what you have described the toys would be fine.

They should be ok, as long as there are no small parts and they cann ot be easily broken. Most plastic groceries should be fine, you may want to supervise her when she is playing with they at first to dee how she does with them. She may want to put them in her mouth since they are food, just make sure you keep them well washed and santiazed, if she is doing this. You also probably want to wash all the toys before letting her play with them for the first time. They should be fine though.

As long as your daughter doesn't put anything in her mouth she should be just fine with the toys. I was giving my oldest son hot wheels when he was 1, but I won't let my younger child play with them because he still puts everything in his mouth. Get her the toys and watch her play with them a few times. If you think she is safe with them then don't worry about it. Always remember it is better to be safe than sorry.

If they are made of thick plastic then they should be ok. The rule is if its a toy for an older age always check for small parts etc. If this doesnt have any then it should be ok.

My 18 mo old daughter plays with baby dolls, doll strollers, play food, and all her older brothers toys. Just watch out for her when she plays. As long as there are no small parts she should be fine. Just supervise.

Think of how big the paper roll is. If the toy can fit through it, don't buy the toy if your daughter still likes to put things in her mouth. Always supervise her playtime with toys.

Can you bite off a small piece? Can they withstand the bite pressure of an 18 month old?
There is probably a reason for the 3+ rating.
Go ahead and use other things for fake groceries- I doubt she'd mind!
