Hehehehe. I had to chuckle when I saw this questions. Both of my children did this at this age. :) We had to get zip-up jammies for my daughter. Then she figured those out so now we have to put her in a onsie that buttons at the crotch. My son outgrew it, but my daughter is 22 months and she will still do it if we put her to bed with out taking the precautions! :) It's pretty typical. You just have to get creative. I have a feeling it's because no one likes to sit in their waste. So just make sure to keep him as dry and clean as possible (I am sure you do) and put clothes on him that he cannot get out of.
Good luck to you.

He's just discovering that he can remove the diaper. It's fun for him. It's like a new toy. I would keep a onsie, shorts or pants on him when you put him down and he should leave it alone. Once he discovers he can get it off even when he has bottoms on you can put the diaper on backwards so the "tape" is in the back instead of where he can easily reach it.
Good luck!! They are cute aren't they?!??!

hehehe! That's kind of cute! Hope you have something underneath to capture any leaks. Perhaps you may want to consider potty training now. If you give him a bottle before bed, try to refrain from the habit. Most obvious reason, he doesn't like to feel wet. 3 years old is the age that most children learn to use the potty, but it is certainly not unheard of 18 month old. My co-worker's child was potty trained at 18 months but her second was not until much later.

He likes too, he knows that he can it is something he learned to do and when in the bed, he gets bored and does this. Mine did it too, if you don't want to put bottoms on him which I suggest since urine is not the best thing for him to be sleeping in and what will you do when he takes it off with a BM in it. He can get the potty in his eyes and mouth and stuff and this is not sanitary. Put it on backwards if you don't want him to wear his bottoms. But, it is unsanitary and you need to either put bottoms on or turn it on backwards. this too shall pass. My ultimate suggestion is to keep bottoms on him.

Does he pee on the crib sheets? Or does he hold it?
If he holds it, then I'd say you don't have a problem.
Otherwise, the word of the day is duct tape. Tape his diaper on tight and he'll have to sleep with it on.

He is asserting his independence. It is something he has the ability to control so he does. He may also be exploring himself which is totally normal at this age. I would recommend keeping him in bottoms and hopefully he will outgrow it.

he likes the cool fresh air on his chubby little bottom, he doesn't like to sleep in a wet or dirty diaper.
