I served 6.5 years in the Navy as a nuclear power officer. My education is in Industrial and Systems Engineering. I'm currently a program manager for a defense contractor. But I don't enjoy this job. How do I go about becoming a park ranger while supporting my family (i.e. not going back to school)? I know park ranger/ forest ranger jobs are hard to get, and you usually have to take seasonal work with the service, with the hopes of it leading to full time work. Is there any other way? Thanks.

These jobs are usually posted through the Employment Office of the state you reside in. Fill out a State Merit application which you can get at the office. Georgia has several positions for rangers. Ga dol search also USA JOBs

I would also talk to the horses mouth. Their job is secure so they have nothing to hide from you.

check with your nearest community college. they will have courses that are set around your schedule.
