Shyness is ruining my life. I dont have many friends and no girlfriends (ever). I am moving away to college soon though. The idea of moving away from home is making me really nervous, but I think its the only way to get better. Will I just automatically get less shy in a new situation, or will I be the same?

I need to be outgoing, but how?

yes, thats exactly what i did, i jumped right into what i feared most, and it helped a lot

look what u think is the best way for urself, probably is... so just do what u think is right, but don't be shy, no matter what u do, ppl. will understand

Basically, yes. Try walking up to people that you don't know and strike up a conversation. Once you talked to several different people in different situations, then you will realize that talking to strangers isn't so bad after all.

If that is hard for you, then try this: next time you are at the store or restaurant getting a burger, ask the person who is waiting on you how their day is going so far. This will get you used to talking to strangers, and it will make their day.

Dont stress yourself aiming to get out of your shyness control ... just gradually and slowly ... the time you took to be shy wont vanish within a blink of an eye .. needs some equivalent time to conquer it all.
